Mahindra launches Maxximo

As you read it first at vicky.in, Mahindra today launched Maxximo mini-truck.  Maxximo – the world’s first mini-truck to be powered by a 2-cylinder CRDe engine with DOHC technology and 4 valves per cylinder. The C2 CRDe engine provides an ideal balance between power and fuel economy. It delivers 18.4 Kw (25 HP) of Power and 55 Nm (5.5 Kgm) of Torque which means greater pulling power along with superior fuel economy of 20 kmpl.

A large loading area of 3.2 sq. mt. (35 sq. ft.) coupled with 850 kg of rated payload mean that the customer can carry more load in one trip, leading to improved earnings. Leaf-spring suspension at the rear with 6 leaves along with thicker (3.6 mm) wheel rims coupled with the powerful C2 CRDe engine truly gives the Maxximo go-anywhere-capability.  The car-like interior includes features like beige-and-tan 2-tone seats that come with headrests and that are more comfortable with better support; a bench seat for the co-driver with no obstruction between driver and co-driver seat – all of which reduces fatigue for driver and passenger over long distances.The well-designed beige-coloured instrument panel boasts of a stylish cluster with a digital odometer, double trip meter and an integrated clock.

A taller and wider cabin with more leg-room and knee-room allows for easy entry and exit, while a footstep for the cargo body, windshield wiper with intermittent function and inbuilt spray system, mobile charging facility and dual-mounted sun-visor add to the overall convenience. The ergonomic hand brake position, dead pedal, steering wheel made of soft-touch, strong-grip material, bigger rear-window and larger windshield enhance the Maxximo’s driving pleasure.

Maxximo will be launched by the end of January or early February 2010. Available in four attractive and youthful shades – Appy Red, Diamond White, Sunny Yellow and Leaf Green. Price of Maxximo will be announced at the time of launch.

TVS to launch Apache RTR ABS

TVS showcased the much awaited Apache RTR ABS at the Auto Expo. The apache RTR fitted with Anti Lock Braking System if launched could be first made in India motorcycle to come with the safety feature (ABS). Apache RTR ABS, developed in collaboration with continental AG Germany is equipped with Advanced Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) and patented speed sensing technology that senses the wheel speed of the Apache RTR ABS. When the wheel of Apache RTR ABS gets locked in slippery conditions, HECU will modulate the hydraulic pressure in the brake system to avoid wheel lock.

Harley Davidson launches Sportster,Dyna,VRSC,Touring and Softail in India

Harley-Davidson India announced it will bring 12 motorcycles from its 2010 model portfolio to India.  The broad selection, with bikes from each of its five model families, will give riders in India maximum choice and opportunity to join millions of Harley-Davidson owners worldwide in pursuit of adventure, freedom and self-expression.

“For over a century, Harley-Davidson has inspired motorcyclists across the world to celebrate their passion for riding. Our experience in leading the leisure motorcycle market worldwide makes us naturally suited to help lead and define leisure riding in India. We entered India with a promise to bring riders the pure Harley-Davidson experience with bikes from every family. Over the past year we have listened to riders across India at our many events, and we have produced a line-up to stir their soul,” said Anoop Prakash, Managing Director, Harley-Davidson India

Bookings for Harley-Davidson motorcycles will be open from April 2010 at dealerships to be announced in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh. Delivery of motorcycles will commence from June 2010.

Yamaha unveils YBR and SZ

Yamaha showcased two concept motorcycles (mass segment) at the Auto Expo. The concept named YBR is similar to Yamaha’s own Alba motorcycle and could be yet another bid by Yamaha to find a slot in the 100cc segment. Yamaha’s other concept – SZ is stunning motorcycle and seems to have inspired by the styling of Yamaha’s own FZ-S. With a headlamp similar to FZ-S, Yamaha’s SZ looked stunning in white. The distinct tank scrouds and attractive two layered tail lamp are the most attractive points. SZ features drum brakes at the front and the rear. Chances are high, SZ could be 125cc bike and might be positioned slightly above the gladiator 125cc.

Tata Rolls Out Magic iris

Tata is raging out with an array of launches and now it has propelled a brand new Magic Iris. This magic wand is power-driven by 611 cc water cooled engine and attains a maximum speed of 55kmph. Magic Iris can accommodate 4 passengers, 3 at back 1 in front or beside the driver.

The Tata Magic Iris, to be launched this year, is for public transportation, offering safer and more comfortable mobility for those who depend on three-wheelers. Its spacious car-like cabin can comfortably seat four passengers – three at the back and one in the front beside the driver. With its car-like on-road stability and sheet metal roof it provides car-like safety.

The 611-cc water cooled diesel engine, backed by a 10-litre fuel tank, is capable of running larger distances with a top speed of about 55 kmph and yet higher engine life. With its bouquet of features, the Tata Magic Iris will be the ideal small passenger carrier which will upgrade both the quality of public transportation and also the income of their owners.

Tata launches Venture

Following the lines of magic and winger, Tata today launched two commercial vehicles – Venture and Magic Iris (developed under the codename Pelican and penguin respectively). While Tata Venture is smaller than winger, magic Iris based on Ace platform will rival Omni in the market. Now the specifications, variants and other details of the Tata Venture

Tata Venture is a van which comes in 5 seater / 8 seater configuration. Venture will be powered by 1.4L Indica engine developing 70bhp of peak power at 4500rpm and 135Nm of peak torque at 2500rpm (the same engine that powers the Indica Vista 1.4 TDI). The Indirect Injection, turbo charged, intercooled is coupled with five speed transmission. With a claimed maximum speed of 125km/hr + venture could be a good option for inter city travel too. Similar to winger and Omni, Venture sports sliding doors at the sides. The dimensions of the Venture are 3.9m in length, 1.5m wide and 1.8m taller. With a wheelbase of 2.1m, Venture promises spacious cabin for occupants.

The less than 4 metre long Tata Venture, to be launched soon, has the footprint and maneuverability of a hatchback car, but the interior space of a utility vehicle comfortably accommodating 8  passengers and ample luggage space. The interiors, with a two-tone beige and black theme, are comfortable with dual heating ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) with roof-mounted ducts. A glasshouse effect with plug-in windows for second row passengers makes it distinctive. Driver comfort has been addressed with power steering, power windows, reverse parking aid, keyless entry with engine immobiliser and rear wipers. Safety features include collapsible steering and side impact beams.

It is powered by a 1.4 Litre turbo diesel engine delivering 70 PS power, with best in class fuel efficiency among diesel MPVs. The Tata Venture will be available in 5, 6, 7 and 8-seater options in 3 row front facing configuration.

Renault Launches Fluence, Laguna, Koleos, Megane

Renault has unleashed Fluence, Laguna, Koleos, and Megane. These new modish stuffs are charged with essential functions and useful accessories.

Renault Fluence

Tata Aria- World

Tata has projected its brand new Aria, which is the world’s first cross over with 4 wheel drive. The new aria is outfitted with 2.2 lit Dicor engine that adds a maximum power of 140 ps and a maximum torque of 320nm. Sumo Grande and Safari are also motorized by the same engine.

Tata Aria swanks with in dash built-in GPS system and whirls gently with multifunctioning steering wheel. Aria is equipped with dual air condition with automatic climate control mechanism. Aria assures safety by incorporating six airbags with ESP. Tata Aria will be launched in second quarter of 2010.

Honda launches CB Twister, New CBF Stunner, New Dio

As we reported earlier, Honda launches three of its mass models CB Twister (110 CC) , New CBF Stunner (125 CC) and New Dio (102 CC) at the Auto Expo today. Honda also unveils global fin bike VFR 1200F to the Indian market. Honda showcased Honda Unicorn Concept Sports bike and a Experimental mobillity device U3X also.
