The story of the Renault Corporation, largest automaker in the world begins in 1898 with the launch of Renault Voiturette 1CV,designed by Louis Renault,its founder,which became the first car to be rolled out from its state-of-art factory.Later on 25th February 1899,Louis joining hands with his brothers Marcel Renault and Fernand Renault laid the foundation for the company named after them as “ Societe Renault Frerer “,headquartered at -Billancourt in France.The year 1908 was considered as the golden age,during which less-than-a-decade-old automaker,became the largest car-maker in France at the production level that crosses nearly 3,575 units.Later in 2005,the Renault made a tie-up with India's largest Utility vehicle maker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and formed Mahindra Renault.Their profitable combination lead to the launch of Logan,the first Renault in India,a grand success,which was then painstakingly revised as a Mahindra Verito sedan,which today suits the Indian style.In October 2010,the company became privatized as a Renault Private Ltd and started its operation for production facilities in India in a joint venture with the Nissan company,and with a full-fledged innovative minded continued offering products like Renault Fluence,Renault Koleos,Renault Pulse,Renault Scala and Renault Duster,that holds value for customers in terms of fuel-economy,aggressive pricing and best-in-class innovation technology.This is why still now,the Renault holds the fourth rank worldwide for the manufacture of automobiles.
