Kia Seltos compact SUV has been launched in India at an affordable introductory price range of Rs.9.69 lakh to Rs.15.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Seltos is a connected mid-size SUV, which is available in two trim levels - Tech Line and GT Line with a total of 16 variants. Kia Motors has started its innings in India with its Seltos SUV to toughly compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500, Renault Captur, Nissan Kicks and the MG Hector. The Kia Seltos is available in both petrol and diesel engine versions. It has been offered with a choice of three BS6-compliant engine options including a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre VGT diesel and a 1.4-litre GDI turbo-petrol motor. The 1.5-litre petrol engine generates 115PS power and 144Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre diesel engine generates maximum power of 115PS and 250Nm of peak torque. The 1.4-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine puts out 140PS and 242Nm of peak power and torque outputs. Transmission duties are handled by a 6-speed Manual and CVT gearboxes on the petrol, 6-speed Manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic units on the diesel while a 6-speed Manual or a 7-speed Dual-clutch automatic gearbox does duty on the turbo-petrol version. The Seltos gets three driving modes - Normal, Eco and Sport and three traction modes - Mud, Snow/Wet and Sand. Kia offers the Seltos with 8 Monotone colour options and 5 Dual tone colour options.
