Hyundai has launched the all-new Elantra sedan in India, which is the sixth-generation of the model. The updated Elantra is available in five trim levels including S, SX, SX AT, SX(O) and SX(O) AT with both petrol and diesel engine options. Both the engines are paired to a 6-speed Manual gearbox, while the automatic transmission is offered as optional. The petrol engine is a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit churning out maximum power output of 152hp and torque of 190Nm. The diesel unit is the same 1.6-litre engine delivering 126hp of peak power and 265Nm of peak torque output. The new Elantra gets an option of two driving modes – Eco and Sport. Design wise, the new Elantra looks better than its predecessor with an improved interior quality. Hyundai has offered the top-end variant of the updated Elantra with a lot of new exciting features including six airbags and Vehicle Stability Control. The new Elantra is available in five attractive colors – Marine Blue, Polar White, Sleek Silver, Phantom Black and Red Passion. It is a tough competitor to its rivals Volkswagen Jetta, Chevrolet Cruze and Skoda Rapid.
