Honda is the globally renowned automobile manufacturing company, whose roots lie in Japan. Since 1959,Honda has been the largest automobile manufacturer also intended to extend its roots into India through the formation of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited(HMSI),owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Company. Later with the subsequent launch of scooters, Honda started the line-up in the Indian market, Honda Activa was the first among followed by Honda Dio and Eterno ,thus increasing the production capacity from 100,000 scooters per year to 600,000 units per year by 2007 in the HMSI factory that spread across Manesar, Haryana spans across 52 acres that would worth about Rs 800 crores. This proliferation in production capacity lead to the growth of second HMSI factory at the Tapukara Industrial Area of Rajasthan that became operational from July 2011.Targeting at 1.2 million units, currently this factory seems to roll out 0.6 million units per year.
