Tata Motors to roll out Nano from Sanand on June 2

The first car of Nano from Tata Motors’ Sanand Plant will be ready for roll out next week. The formal launch of the plant will be on June 02 in the presence of Gujarat CM and the Chairman of Tata Group. It is to be remembered that the pilot commercial production is already on and the plant is invested at Rs2000 crore to make 250000 units per year. The expansion of the facility may see the production to increase by 5 lakhs per annum. By October-November, the company assured, that 1 lakh Nanos will be delivered for the bookings made in the initial phase. From July 2009 till April 2010 the company has delivered 33000 units made from the Pantnagar plant. The launch of Sanand plant will make job provision for 10000 direct or indirect vendors and service sectors. The Sanand complex will get the presence of 60 ancillary units since this happens to be Tata’s maiden venture in the state of Gujarat. The plant will enhance Tata’s broad base facility in manufacturing Nano [images].

Volkswagen to pierce the Indian market with its Phaeton in June

General Motors India pulls out its deal with Reva

REVA confirmed the pull out of GM and the exchange of money would be sorted out soon, said REVA’s Financial Officer. However, M&M has no inclination in the continued deal for REVA-GM.

Mahindra &Mahindra to spread its wave of Maximmo in the South

The wave of the LCV from M&M has set in the zones of west and the north in India and the current sweep is directed towards the South. Already the company has secured 25% share in this segment and the production at the Chakan plant is to be increased to 3000 units from the existing 2000 units a month. The all country launch of this truck will be on the lines of 0.5 tonne compact Gio. M&M is all set to launch more models in this Maximmo platform, preferably CNG variant and a passenger vehicle to drive the brand image to overseas.

Volkswagen stakes a major claim in the designer Italdesign
