Volkswagen stakes a major claim in the designer Italdesign

Volkswagen, the German car maker, is getting a new face with the procurement of 90.1% in Italian auto designer Italdesign. There is no talk of the actual money involved in this deal but the acquiring process will be routed through VW’s Lamborghini sport car unit. While the remaining shares will be rested with Giugiaro family, which is the founder of the design group Aldo Mantovani in 1968. By joining hands with VW, the family is set to make a high profile and already it has the annual sale of more than 100 million Euro. The company developed the Golf I in association with concept cars from VW Passat and Scirocco in addition to Audi 80. italdesign was in the field for Fiat’s Punto and Alfa Romeo 159.
