Mahindra stallio comes in two variants. Mahindra Stallio with alloy wheels,  electric start and digital console is priced Rs44,699. Mahindra Stallio 110cc spoke wheel and kick start is priced Rs41,199. All the prices indicated here are ex-showroom Pune.

While Mahindra’s Mojo is directed at hard core biker, Stallio will lead the brand in the competitive motorcycle segment. Mahindra Stallio an 110cc motorcycle will be pitted against the likes of Hero Honda passion pro, Bajaj Discover 110cc, TVS star city and Honda CB Twister. Stallio powered by an 110cc engine generates 7.3PS of peak power at 7500rpm and 8.0Nm at 5500rpm. Mahindra Stalio gets a moderate 4-speed gearbox. 130mm drum brake at the front and the rear tells the Stallio would be aggressively priced. Mahindra Stallio runs 2.75×18″ tyre at the front and 3.00×18″ tyre at the rear. Mahindra Stallio sports telescopic forks at the front and 5-step adjustable coil spring at the rear. With the weight of 125kg and a wheelbase of 1265mm Stallio is designed to suit the rural and urban commuters.

Mahindra Mojo 300cc Technical Specifications and Pictures

Just before Mahindra officially launches its motorcycles, netizens managed to sneak into it. Here is the complete detail of Mahindra motorcycles. The much expected and much advertised 300cc motorcycle is named as Mahindra Mojo. Mahindra Mojo is the most powerful motorcycle produced in India. Mahindra Mojo comes with liquid cooled, 4-valve engine generating  26bhp of peak power at 8500rpm and 24Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm. Mahindra Mojo 292 cc engine is coupled with 6-speed transmission. Mahindra Mojo rides on larger profile 100-80 17″ and 150/60 17″ tyres at the front and the rear. As expected, Mahindra Mojo comes with disc brakes at the front and the rear.  Mojo bike features 320mm disc at the front and 220mm disc at the rear.

Mahindra Mojo sports inverted fork suspension at the front and mono shock suspension at the rear. Mahindra Mojo LED lamps at the rear and twin barrel headlmaps is sure to rewrite the design standard of Indian bike industry.

Upgraded version of Montero SUV from Mitsubishi

In a move to go along with the emission norms stipulated by the government, Mitsubishi has come out with a new version of its SUV Montero. Based on BS IV norms, it has got refinements in power out put than the current model. It will have a 3200cc, turbo-diesel engine with 4 cylinder power, a catalytic converter and swirl control bulb. The outlook too undergoes for betterment in front and rear bumpers. The chassis is crafted with monocoque having a built-in ladder-frame. Yet, there is no change for suspension as the new Montero will be fitted with an an upgraded double wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension.

The power output will be , however, 144.9bhp from the 114.9bhp available in the current model. There is an increase in torque level too by 5.9kgm at 45kgm now of max torque @2000rpm. The new SUV is to have a 5-speed auto gearbox. The price of this new Montero will be Rs38 lakh ex-Delhi showroom.

Hero Honda’s Splendor Pro

Hero Honda has officialy announced the launch of Splendor Pro.  Splendor Pro comes with new stickering, muffler cover, alloy wheels and electric start option. Splendor comes in two variants and is priced Rs39,950 and Rs41,950 (with button start). According to Mr Anil Dua, Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Sales, Hero Honda Motors Ltd, “We are confident that Spendor Pro will further augment our growth in the deluxe segment. We are also looking forward to maintaining the all-time high monthly sales numbers of the past few months. We have lined up a few more exciting launches in the run-up to the festive season.”

Mahindra to increase prices of Bolero, Scopio and Xylo

Following Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, utility vehicle major Mahindra plans to increase the prices of its products. The prices of Scopio, Bolero and Xylo might go up by up to Rs8000. “This increase would be in the range of Rs 3,000 to Rs 8,000 depending on the model and will be effective from October 1, 2010,” Mahindra & Mahindra said in a statement.

Mahindra says the higher raw-material costs and implementation of Bharat Stage III emission norms from next month across the country are the factors behind the price hike.

“We have been holding back this raise for a while, but now it has become imperative to raise prices especially as the prices of raw materials have been on the rise,” M&M Chief Executive (Automotive Division) Rajesh Jejurikar said.

India’s second largest car maker, Hyundai, is scheduling its proposed small car to vie Maruti Alto, in a smooth manner. The company is well on its journey in the A segment with its flagships, Santro and i10 and the R&D wing of the company in Korea is in full swing for developing the small car to be pitted against Alto. The official from the company revealed that everything is going as per schedule and is on well course but did not specify the proposed date of launch. The new version will be below Santro and be on par Maruti Alto, (which is receiving a sale of 20000 units per month). The CEO of Hyundai said there will be a plan for launching new models, at least two or three, every year and Santa Fe is slated for October 2010. He admitted that the company may face a fall in export market due to the slackening in certain overseas markets. The export volume this year may be around 2.50lakhs against 2.60 lakhs in 2009 he said. He added that in addition to 110 countries currently under the export venture, there will be 8 more countries this year for export.

The CEO launched the upgraded hatchback Next Gen i10 recently in Tamilnadu. The car is coming under an upgradation mode at an investment of Rs400 crore and exhibits vigorous design change, 3D wraparound headlamps with multi-reflector chrome surround fog lamps and an all new chrome radiator grill. The Next Gen i10 comes with a 1.1 lit at Rs3.48 lakhs and 1.2 lit Kappa engine version is priced Rs4.14 lakhs. The company’s facility near Chennai has the capacity for i10, Santro, Accent Executive, Verna Transform sedan, Sonata luxury sedan.

Business amidst flirtation

Mahindra &Mahindra is getting the smiles from Global Vehicles USA for a tune of $35 m orders, amidst the conflict between them. The Alpharetta, is a Georgia based dealer is making this offer for TR20 and TR40 trucks, without specifying the exact number. The vehicles will be marketed by Global Vehicles and 350 dealers spread over 49 states and the investment for dealing this pick-ups will be $100 m. Earlier, some four months ago, Global Vehicles approached the Atlanta Court for barring M&M to deal with no other dealer than it. The controversy was over the blame that M&M was in a move to promote its vehicles despite contract regulations. M&M, however, claimed that the said contract expired and sought the rejection of the plea from The Global Vehicles Inc. Yet, there is no confirmation about these proposals from the camps of M&M, except a claim that M&M had extended all its might in dealing with The Global Vehicles. M&M is hopeful of selling its trucks in the US, after a resounding feedback from the customers there. M&M is facing the conflict for more than a year, as it is very keen on entering the US market.
