Design and Style

Yamaha Ray looks really stylish and royal with its integrated headlight and turn signal assembly. The headlight is very large and bright which is fixed on the front face of the Ray along with turn signals and it adds more beauty to the scooter. The V shaped cuts are worked into the headlight lens offering a jewellery appearance. It has a decent instrumental panel of crystal type holding analog speedometer, fuel gauge, indicator lamps for the high beam and turn signals. The inner box and convenient hook is placed in front of the foot space and it is possible to keep 600 ml plastic bottle along with the use of hanging a daypack. The footboard of the Yamaha Ray is broad, flat with enough space to keep our leg very comfy and safe and even it is perfectly suitable for tall riders also. The leg shield is very compact offering mud protection and it has a design with small intrusion into the inner panel. The Yamaha Ray is fitted with comfortable seating arrangements and grab-bar enhancing more luxurious feel of the tandem riders. The footrest is of foldable type and it is very easy to fold with the toe. It comes with a lot of storage space under the seat which is possible to hold 15.5 liter capacity such as A4 size file or a jet-type helmet. It has a powerful engine assuring better power and torque output. Not only the front, the rear also looks very glamorous with its taillight with cut lenses for sparkling appearance which improves the overall look and gives an elegant look. It comprises a large rear fender which follows the movement of the tire and it not only prevents mud splatter but also protects like sari from getting tangled in the wheel.

Engine Specification of Yamaha Ray

The Yamaha Ray is well equipped by an air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine which gives a displacement of about 113 cc. The engine delivers the maximum power of about 7.1 PS @ 7500 RPM in coupling with the maximum torque of about 8.1 NM @ 5000 RPM. The bore and stroke of the scooter is measured as 50.0 mm and 57.8 mm along with the compression ratio of 9.2:1. The Ray comes with both electric and kick start option and the rider can be able to choose their own. The engine is mated with a V-belt automatic transmission type ensuring smooth ride.

Mileage of Yamaha Ray

Yamaha Ray provides a decent acceleration and pick up with lot of excellent features. The scooter has a dry centrifugal clutch type ensuring smooth gear change. The fuel tank capacity of the Yamaha Ray is nearly 5 litres with 0.8 litres of engine oil volume. It has a carburetor fuel supply system and it generates a healthy mileage of about 45-50 kmpl but it may vary on both city and highways. The Yamaha Ray is expected to offer the maximum speed of about 80 kmph.

Brakes and Suspension System

The Yamaha Ray comes with an underbone frame type with excellent braking and handling features. The new scooter has drum brake on both front and rear of diameter 130 mm with tube type tyres of size 90/100-10 53 J. Likewise, the Ray has a newly designed telescopic front fork suspension assuring agile handling and running performance along with better stability even over rough roads. The rear suspension of the scooter is of unit swing adding more safety and security. For better safety, the Ray comes with a bright headlight and taillight with turn signal lamps providing more safety to both rider and pillion.
