One of the leading two wheeler manufacturer Mahindra has presented the new Gusto 125 packed with head turning styling, 125cc power, great mileage and innovative car like features which seems to be quite outstanding. Gusto 125c is well packed with awesome features like adjustable seat height, smooth running motor with good bottom end grunt which makes the gusto drive fabulous.

Mahindra Gusto 125 Dimension

The Gusto 125 is designed with an overall length of 1825mm and width of 711mm where as the height of the scooter is found to be 1188mm respectively. The wheelbase of the vehicle is nearly 1275mm and ground clearance is about 165mm. Apart from that, the Vx variant comes with a 770mm in upper, 735 in lower position and Dx is 770mm.

Design and Style

Mahindra Gusto 125 looks really decent and trendy but it shares the same curves and edges with its sibling Gusto. The new Gusto is same mostly to the front part but it uses a very different pattern for air intakes. It has six air intakes along with chrome stripe on the side panels which differentiates the new scooter. This vehicle is well designed with a conservative body style with a color matching inserts on the new dual tone shades. With its head turning style, it would definitely grab everybody’s eyeballs wherever it goes.

Halogen Headlamp with LED Lamps

The front part of the scooter is well decorated with a bright halogen headlamp along with LED lamps which is quite useful while riding at night time. Actually it looks very bold and it has stylish rear view mirrors for watching rear happenings easily.

Find Me Lamps

The new Gusto 125 is bestowed with an excellent Find Me Lamps which would blink and beep to find out the spot in few seconds. In order to find the vehicle even in a big crowded parking area, just hit the button on the flip key which is quite easy to pick it.

Guide Lamp

Guide Lamp is also one of the excellent feature offered in the new Gusto 125 which blinks even if we are not riding it. Actually the lamp stays on for a few seconds even after the ignition is turned off which is quite useful while riding at dark places.

Easy Front Kick

It is not necessary to kick start the new Gusto 125 because it has self start option too. But if we wish to kick start the vehicle, no need to worry about it. Since it comes with a smartly designed Front Kick like other motorcycles. So it is easy to kick start the scooter even though we are seated.

Quick Storage

In the new Gusto 125, storing things safely is not a big issue because the vehicle comes fitted with an innovative pocket like storage facility just below the display panel. The quick storage seems to be thoughtfully designed for quick and easy access as the name suggests.

Remote Flip Key

Remote Flip Key is one of the attractive features in this scooter and the key of the vehicle comes out like a switchblade if the button is pressed once. Also the flip key is provided with a LED panel which would illuminate the keyhole at night time. Apart from that, it is an ideal combination of style and substance.

Mahindra Gusto 125 Engine Details

Talking about the engine, the scooter is really good packed with a powerful 124.6cc, 4 stroke, Air Cooled M-TEC engine delivering power output of 6.4Kw (8.5BHP) at 7000rpm and maximum torque of 10.0Nm at 5500rpm mated to the continuous variable transmission. This powerful engine makes everybody to experience the thrilling riding experience. It helps to climb even the inclined area without breaking a sweat which is too good. Mahindra claims that the new Gusto 125 delivers an attractive mileage of around 65kmpl along with excellent pick up and acceleration.

Height Adjustable Seat

Moving to its seating arrangement, the new Gusto 125 features a height adjustable seat which we need always in a scooter. It is to be noted that Gusto is considered to be the only scooter which comes with an unique height adjustable seat. This feature is quite useful for everyone in the family to raise or lower the height of the seat to a position according to their needs which enhances a comfortable and safe ride. Apart from that, the vehicle has an enough space to store the things safely in under seat storage area.

Tyres and Brakes

When it is talking about the tyres, the scooter is fitted with large tubeless tyres. Compared to other scooter tyres having 10 inch tyres, the new Gusto 125 features an extra large tire of size 12 inch for delivering rock solid stability at any speed. Even though the tyres are tubeless, it makes the riding very safer. Braking is really superb embedded with 130mm mechanical drum brake at both front and rear.

Telescopic Suspension with Air Springs

Mahindra Gusto 125 is well equipped with a telescopic air spring front suspension and coil type hydraulic rear suspension for easy handling of the scooter even in poor road conditions. This telescopic suspension with air springs has an unique ability of making even rough terrain virtually non-existent. This suspension set up would definitely enhance stability and handling of the scooter.

Verdict

With a price range of Rs.48,920-Rs.52,920, Mahindra’s New Gusto 125 is a tough competitor to its similar other scooters such as Honda Activa 125, new Suzuki Access 125 etc. This scooter could be opted for its awesome features like smooth running motor, good bottom end grunt, innovative features etc. But the color options are outlandish anyway it is not a big issue in this. Finally, Mahindra Gusto 125 is a good choice for daily ride.
