Review on Tata Ace

Tata Motors with an intention to further improve the transportation,entered into the small commercial vehicle segment with the introduction of Ace. Unlike other trucks, Tata develops somewhat new that gets fulfilled with the superior safety, excellence performance in varied conditions, ease-of-maintenance, style, comfort and cost-effectiveness, in a way not experienced by the small cargo vehicles owner.

Build and Styling:

The cabin is spacious enough to accommodate two persons. Driver seat is pretty comfortable for riding.With the support of dual circuit and hydraulically activated brake type,good stopping power is seen. Tata Ace claims a fuel capacity of about 30 litres of diesel type.One can gain confidence over the steering wheel ,also it has with a turning radius of 805mm,thus can turn easily in tight spaces. The wheelbase of 1820mm and ground clearance of 4mm promotes stability. It measures up to 3800mm in length,1500 mm in width and 2100mm tall.With the kerb weight of 1180kg,Ace sits on 12-inch wheels.

Engine and Performance:

The truck gets powered up by the 4-stroke naturally aspirated indirected injection diesel engine delivering up to 16 HP of power at 3200 rpm and peak torque of 3.8 Mkg at 2000 rpm.This engine gets mated with the transmission unit consisting of 4 forward synchromesh gears and 1 sliding mesh reverse gear.Good stopping power comes from the braking system consists of dual circuit hydraulically actuated diagonal split with booster. Good handling dynamics is achieved through the means of suspension setup comprising of parabolic leaf spring at both the front and the rear ends.While riding, usage of first gear comes for moving the vehicles and to crawl under heavy load situations. With minimum half clutch one can shift to the 2nd gear.The 4th gear is like that of overdrive gear. With the deep gear ratios, one can climb up the hill with an ease, that shows that it has been specifically designed for steep terrains.

Verdict:

The price of Tata Ace costs at Rs3,80,000(ex-showroom,Delhi).It gives a tough competition to its rivals that includes Bajaj Auto,Piaggo,Mahindra and Force Motors.It is a good choice in terms of reliability, service backup, maintenance free, thus offering a good value of money for money.
