The leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Piaggio introduced the Ape Truk in order to compete against the mighty Tata Ace. The new vehicle is a four wheeled version of the three wheeled Piaggio Ape. The Ape Truk is available in various attractive colour shades such as Golden Yellow, Bianco White and many more. The engine is powered by a 4-stroke, naturally aspirated, indirect injection water cooled diesel engine with a displacement of about 482 cc. The engine churns out the maximum power output of 8.4 KW @ 4500 RPM in combination with the maximum torque of 23 NM @ 3200 RPM. The Ape Truk engine is mated with a six speed transmission along with single plate dry friction diaphragm type clutch assuring smooth ride. The steering type of the truk is of mechanical rack and pinion type giving excellent hand grip. The company claims that the new truk has better fuel efficiency over the Tata Ace. The vehicle pumps out a healthy mileage of about 22 kmpl with a bigger loading area and higher ground clearance.
