Kodiaq, the seven-seater SUV of Skoda is based on Volkswagen's MQB platform. Kodiaq is the name of an Alaskan bear. Formerly known as Vision S, the Kodiaq measures 4697mm long, 1882mm wide and 1665mm high. Available in only one trim, the SUV is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine delivering 150hp and 340Nm of peak power and torque outputs. Power to the wheels has been transmitted via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Kodiaq gets a newly designed multi-spoke alloy wheels along with a sleek LED tail lamp cluster. Apart from the standard features like dual front airbags, ABS and EBD, the other additional highlight features of the Kodiaq SUV include a panoramic sunroof, auto headlamps and wipers, electrically-adjustable front seats, adjustable second row of seats, powered tail-gate, hands-free parking assist, drowsiness sensor, magnetised flashlight, plastic ‘bumpers’ that pop out and protect the door edges when the doors are open, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 12-speaker Canton stereo, 10-colour ambient lighting and so on. Agressively priced at Rs.34.5 lakhs, the Kodiaq will take on the likes of Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
