With an aim of expanding the line-up of Dost series, Ashok Leyland has introduced the 1.5 tonne Dost Plus Mini truck. Dost Plus looks exactly similar to Dost but comes with a higher payload capacity of 1475kg which is only 1250kg in Dost. Also, the Dost Plus measures 145mm higher in load body length, 160mm longer than the Dost in wheelbase and is available only in Diesel engine version when compared to Dost which is available in both Diesel and CNG versions. Powering the Dost Plus is the same 1.5-litre TDCR engine of Dost but is tuned to produce higher power and torque outputs of 60hp and 170Nm which is only 58hp and 158Nm in Dost. The engine gets mated to a 5-speed Manual transmission gearbox. Internally, the dual tone interiors, air conditioner, mobile charging socket and cable type gear shift of Dost are retained in the Dost Plus too. The truck can accommodate 2 members (Driver Plus 1) and will take on the likes of Tata Ace and Mahindra Bolero Maxi Truck.
