Vehicle Transfer in Karnataka

Procedure for Transfer of Ownership within the same R.T.O.


Application & Documents to be produced :


1) Form no CMV 29 in duplicate.
2) Form no. CMV 30. If vehicle is covered under Hypothecation/HPA/Lease form CMV 30 shall be produced in duplicate with the consent of financier.
3) Registration Certificate , valid insurance, emission Certificate, Fitness certificate in case of transport vehicle, Tax card with uptodate tax paid proof.
4) Address proof in original as per rule 4 of CMV rules.
5) In case of LMVs and transport vehicles PAN card . If there is no PAN number form no 61 in case of agriculturists and form no. 60 in case of others.
6) Three passport size photographs of the transferee.

Fees(to be paid at R.T.O. cash counter) :


1) Rs.35/- for two wheelers
2) Rs.105/- for Light Motor Vehicles (Non-transport)
3) Rs.155/- for Light Commercial Vehicles
4) Rs.205/- for Medium Goods/Passenger vehicles.
5) Rs.305/- for Heavy Goods/Passenger vehicles.
6) Rs.405/- for imported vehicles.
7) Rs.105/- for imported motor cycles.
8) Rs.155/- for other vehicles not mentioned above.
9) HP continuation fee of Rs 100/- if the vehicle s covered by Hypothecation/HPA/Lease Agreement.

Compounding Fees:


If the application is not made within 14 days from the date of transfer of ownership, compounding fee of Rs 25/- per month for delay subject to a maximum of Rs100/- shall be paid.

Procedure :


Application along with above documents shall be submitted at the Registration Section.

Delivery of Documents:


1) Documents of non-transport vehicles will be delivered on the next day between 4-30pm and 5-30 pm.
2) Document of transport vehicles will be delivered after 2 days between 4-30pm and 5-30 pm.

Transfer of Ownership of vehicles migrated from other regions (within the State)


Application & Documents to be produced:


1) Form no CMV 29 in duplicate.
2) Form no. CMV 30. If vehicle is covered under Hypothecation/HPA/Lease form CMV 30 shall be produced in duplicate with the consent of financier.
3) Registration Certificate , valid insurance, emission Certificate, Fitness certificate in case of transport vehicle, Tax card with uptodate tax paid proof.
4) Address proof in original as per rule 4 of CMV rules.
5) In case of LMVs and transport vehicles PAN card . If there is no PAN number form no 61 in case of agriculturists and form no. 60 in case of others.
6) Clearance Certificate issued by previous registering authority (except two wheelers)
7) Three passport size photographs of the transferee.

1) Rs.35/- for two wheelers

3) Rs.155/- for Light Commercial Vehicles

Documents required:


1) Registration Certificate (original), valid insurance, emission Certificate, fitness certificate in case of transport vehicle, Tax card if obtained, and Address proof.
2) Address proof in original as per rule 4 of CMV rules to be produced for verification
3) Forms: Form no 27 cmv , 27 kmv , 29 cmv in duplicate, 30 cmv to be filled and signed
4) Form no 30 to be filed in duplicate if covered by HPA/Lease agreement
5) No objection Certificate in form 28 issued by the previous registering authority should be produced.
6) One passport size photograph to be affixed on form 27 cmv
7) IN case of LMV’s, If PAN no is allotted PAN card has to be produced . if there is no PAN No form no 61 in case of agrilturists and form no 60 in case of others has to be filed.
8) NOC from financier if MV covered by HPA/Lease agreement has to produced.

Fees:


1) Fees Rs 35/- for two wheeler and Rs 105/- for LMV if the application is within 14 days from the date of transfer of ownership.
2) Rs 25/- per month of delay subject to a maximum of Rs100/- in case of belated application
3) Rs 100/ as hp continuation fee in case of HP continuation
4) Tax : to be got assessed at RTO office.
5) If tax amount exceeds Rs 3500/- obtain DD in favour of 'RTO Bangalore"

Procedure :


1) Registered owner should appear in person.
2) Vehicle should be produced for inspection
3) Tax and fees can be paid at the cash counter and obtain challans .
4) Application along with the documents noted above to be [produced before the superintendent for verification who in turn refers the papers for inspection.
5) After inspection of the MV by IMV submit all the papers at the inward counter and obtain acknowledgement.
