Mahindra and Mahindra is well known for the Sports Utility Vehicles manufacturer which introduced its Quanto with an array of exciting features. The new mini Xylo with the codename of ‘U203’ is later known as Mahindra Quanto which is considered to be the first ever sub four meter MPV with ladder frame body frame.

Mahindra Quanto Engine Details
Mahindra Quanto is packed with a newly derived engine from the already existing Mahindra powertrains. The car is powered with a 1.5 L diesel engine which is not a new engine and it is an already existed one which delivers the peak power of about 100 BHP @ 3750 RPM as well as the maximum torque of 240 NM @ 1600-2800 RPM. This engine has been designed with the BS V and BS VI complaint with some modifications and it uses double overhead camshaft. The weight of the new engine is nearly 65kgs while compared with the MDiCRD motor and it is mated with a five speed manual transmission which is very dynamic and robust.

Mahindra Quanto is a very compact car but it has enough spaces on the inside of the car. The seating arrangements of the car is also very comfortable with loads of headroom. The bells and whistles of the car looks very decent and nice. The interiors of the car is dressed with premium plastic quality which is really good. The features of the Quanto is somewhat similar to the Xylo and it provides the middle row passenger to keep their legs very convenient. It is a spacious car in which seven members can take their seat comfortably and the seats are of wrapped with high quality fabrics. The power steering of the car makes the driver very easy. The car gets a power windows with an advanced air conditioning system with AC vents which offers uniform coolness all around the cabin.
Moving to the exteriors, the Quanto is well designed and developed on the Ingenio platform which inspires the customers. The front fascia of the car is a little bit different from the Xylo in which the V bonnet of the car has been refined and retouched. It consists of a new lip which has been added above the toothy smiley grille. Along with that, the front has a trendy fog lamps and sporty roof rails. The car comes with all new D pillars covered with tail lamps. In addition, there is spare wheel which is surmounted on the tail gate at the rear end which satisfies the mini-SUV philosophy. The wheelsize of the car has been reduced from 16” to 15” in Quanto and the wheels offers a superior grip on the road.
Braking, Handling and Safety Features
The braking, handling and safety are the important aspects while driving any car and these are really good in Quanto. The braking system consists of an advanced Antilock Braking System which helps in preventing the wheels from locking up while applying immediate brakes and prevents from skidding too. The handling is also good with the help of suspension system along with an electrically assisted power steering wheel. The Mahindra Quanto comes with a lot of high class safety features which includes ABS, dual front airbags, fog lamps, engine immobilizer, crumple zones, front head rests, three rear headrests and seatbelts.
I have purchased Mahindra Quanto and i think it would be good for long travel since there is no fatigue in driving which delivers adequate power to keep very comfortable. It is a very comfortable car because of high seating position and easy to keep idle foot on extra stand. According to me, it is a complete package for a large family. The company has forgot to keep side steps, foot mats. Otherwise, everything is just ok and it would be a good family car.
My car is Mahindra Quanto and I have chosen the vehicle for many reasons. Looks and Style - Great on both exteriors and interiors. Comfort - rear seats are little bit uncomfy for elders but suited for children. Storage space is also good and leg space. The seating arrangement is quite very spacious so that all persons can take their seat comfortably. The vehicle would deliver the mileage of around 18-20 on highways and 14-16 in city roads. Some of its best features include sensors, digital indicators, sensors, airbags etc. Overall, it is a superb experience in a budget cost.
Dear friends, I am having a Mahindra Quanto car and I am not so happy with the vehicle. Actually the car comes with a diesel variant at about 7-8 lacs. The company promises that the vehicle would deliver the mileage of about 17.7 kmpl. But it is surprised that the car offers the mileage as low as 10.5 kmpl. It has no good features for its price. Comparing with others, much better features are available in petrol segment. The AC power is also too low which is a complete manufacturing defect. Personally, I felt no features as good so better to choose any other brand which would be better.
Mahindra Quanto seemed to be very exciting at the time of launch but after purchasing the vehicle the dealer s behaved very bad. They always tried to change the customer opinion not only for this car but also for all Mahindra variants. I have learnt that even a good product could be failed by poor service. The customer must go again and again even for a simple problem. The staffs are not well trained and they could not even find out the correct problem. Visiting Mahindra dealers to purchase a car is merely a waste of time and money. Friends be careful while choosing a car for purchase.
