Design and Engineering

Honda Shine is a very good companion which satisfies the needs of rider’s with superior performance and mileage. The new bike gets a 3D emblem offers a distinct class to the bike and it improves the premiumness and style to the bike. The bike looks very stylish with an attractive graphics on the bike. The dashboard is very decent with features such as Speedometer, ODO meter, fuel guage with three indicators (high beam, signal and neutral) on the right. The indicator lights are really nice and it gives a bright vision for the riders. It is well fitted with a handle bar weight dampening vibrations and enhances the stability of the bike. Also it has a new age mirror which is a mark of excellence in itself. The Shine is packed with a striking ergo-tec design which helps very easy to handle and ride based on human engineering. The diamond frame is of very light weight and advanced which distributes load uniformly in order to offer better stability where as the 3-step spring loaded hydraulic shockers gives the superior shock absorption capability. The bike is equipped with a body coloured grab rail which gives an unique appearance to the vehicle. Shine has a strong and flexible frame which is very apt for the Indian road conditions. It consists of a viscous air filter and it does not require any maintenance and replacement which is quite outstanding. Apart from that, the bike possess a maintenance free battery which is an innovative adopted technology and it is more useful while compared to the conventional battery.

Honda Shine Dimensions

The length of the Honda Shine is measured as 2014 mm, width is 762 mm and the overall height is around 1071 mm. The kerb weight of the bike is approximately 120 kg which is quite good. The Shine can hold the fuel tank capacity of about 10.5 litres respectively. The bike provides the wheelbase of about 1266 mm and ground clearance of about 157 mm.

Engine Details, Acceleration and Mileage

The Honda Shine is powered by an air cooled, four stroke, SI engine which gives the displacement very close to 124.7 cc along with BS-III norms. The Shine engine is termed as Optimax which means “optimum input for maximum output” and it optimizes the fuel input to maximize the output delivering awesome mileage and pick up. The bore and stroke is measured as 52.4 mm and 57.86 mm respectively. The engine of Shine delivers the maximum power of 10.12 BHP @ 7500 RPM in combination with the maximum torque of 10.54 NM @ 5500 RPM. This power packed engine comes with a OHC valve system and carburetor fuel system. The starting system of the bike has two options namely kick start and electric start. The lubrication of the bike is of forced pressure with wet pump and it has a viscous paper filter which is really good. The engine is mated with a proficient and manual four speed gear chain drive transmission helpful in smooth gear shifting. The Shine can propel from 0 – 60 kmph in just 5.3 seconds which is outstanding. It is expected that the Shine would definitely provides a good mileage in which it provides a mileage of about 65 kmpl.

Brakes and Suspensions

The Honda Shine comes with a sound and dynamic braking and handling features. The Shine is designed with an advanced diamond frame. The front brake of the bike is of disc type of diameter 240 mm while the rear brake is of drum type of 130 mm diameter. On the other hand, the front and rear suspension is of spring loaded hydraulic type. Both front and rear tyres are of tubeless type with size such as 80/100 – 18 47P for front and 80/100 – 18 54P for rear. The tubeless tyres of the bike provides durability and easy to maintain along with less probability of flat tyres on the go. It is also available in Tuff-up Tube for spoke wheels. In addition, the shine has a digital CDI ignition type which is also helpful. These braking features provides an excellent stopping in all conditions. For better safety, the bike possess a bright and radiant headlamp of 12V 35/35 W which provides better vision during any time.
