17,March 2011 - Mahindra & Mahindra,one of the leading auto maker in India has launched a special limited edition of its multi utility vehicle Xylo at a price tag of Rs 9.06 lakh in the ex-showroom, Delhi.It comes with an array of additional features involving anti-lock breaking system.This launch by the company is mainly to mark its second anniversary.
10,July 2010 - Mahindra and Mahindra planned to introduce a micro-hybrid model of its SUV model Xylo in the Indian market.It was the third Mahindra vehicle to get the fuel efficient technology.The micro hybrid technology provided in the Xylo enables the engine to stop when the car is idle and makes the engine to start automatically when the driver pushes the gas pedal.This saves fuel in heavily congested urban traffic.
13,January 2009 - Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., the market leader in utility vehicles launched the Mahindra XYLO at its Nashik plant.It is featured with a powerful 2.49 litre mEagle CRDe engine which delivers a power of 112 bhp and is well known for its good performance and fuel efficiency.Tthe base model of XYLO is priced at Rs 624,500.

Engine Capacity and Performance
Mahindra Xylo is available only in diesel version and it features two types of diesel engines viz mEagle CRDe engine and mDI CRDe engine.The powerful 2.49 litre mEagle CRDe engine has a very good fuel efficiency and it delivers a power of 112 bhp at 3800rpm. It produces 260Nm of maximum torque at 1800 - 2200 rpm. Likewise,the mDI CRDe engine delivers a maximum power of 95 bhp at 3600rpm and produces a maximum torque of 220Nm at 1400- 2600 rpm.The engine of Xylo is also equipped with a common rail direct injection fuel supply system offering free flow of oil and smooth riding.Due to the presence of its highly powerful engine,Xylo is well known as a good performance car.
Mileage and Fuel Economy
The high powerful engine of Mahindra Xylo is well known for its very good fuel efficiency and the 5 Speed Manual Transmission present in it yields smooth and swift shifting of gears and endeavours an attractive xylo mileage of 13 kmpl.
Handling and Safety
Xylo is equipped with both active and passive safety features for safeguard purposes.Like Scorpio,the Anti lock Braking System present in it guarantees prevention of wheel lock in case of abrupt braking.It is featured with front fog lights that offers comfortable driving in any mode of weather conditions.

Mahindra Xylo D2 BSIII
This is the base model of Xylo which possess mDI CRDe engine. It norms BS III compliant and comes with extra features like roof console for spectacle holder, digital clock, sun visor, theatre effect lamps, Tilt Steering, Power steering, Power window, central locking, engine immobiliser etc.
Mahindra Xylo E4
This is the upgraded version with m Eagle CRDe engine and contains additional features like fabric seat material, flat bed seat, mobile charging points, rear wash and wiper, etc.
Mahindra Xylo E6
This is again an upgraded version with an mEagle CRDe engine and extra features like digital drive assists system, arm rest, foldable arm rest in middle seat with utility space, key less entry, rear defogger, fog lamps etc. are provided to it.
Mahindra Xylo E8
This upgraded version comes with an mEagle CRDe engine and it features two DIN audio system, full console, foldable flight tray, position lumbar support front seat, etc.

This is the same model as Mahindra Xylo E8 with an additional feature of ABS in it.
Mahindra Xylo E8-ABS-AIR BAG
This is the same model as Mahindra Xylo E8-ABS with an additional feature of Air Bags attached to it.
