23,September 2010 - Hyundai Motor India,the second largest car maker in the country launched the new face-lifted Hyundai i10.It is featured with a new mighty engine.The new Hyundai i10 named the “NextGen i10” holds the same powertrain that already exists with an additional technology of VTVT i.e Variable Timing Valve Train.It has stylish ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, height adjustable driver seat, full wheel cover and foldable key with keyless entry.Its cabin features steering mounted audio controls and bluetooth control,USB port and AUX connection, instrument console in vibrant blue instead of light green, two-tone dashboard,silver casing for audio, a digital fuel meter and a up shift-down shift indicator, etc.,
28,December 2009 - Hyundai’s i10 replaced Santro as flagship model.Hyundai's next generation hatchback i10 overtook the company's best-selling car, Santro and became the flagship model for the Korean auto major, according to the sales figures for the past few months.
10,January 2008 - Hyundai i10 was awarded the car of the year for the year 2008.Along with that it also won the Compact Car of the Year Award. Regarding this,the MD of Hyundai Motors,Heung Soo Lheem informed that it was a great honour to have this prestigious award and he dedicated the award to all his staff in their Chennai factory and their dealers and suppliers.

Hyundai i10 was launched by India’s second largest car maker,Hyundai Motors after the great success of its hatchback segment car Santro.Hyundai i10 is also a hatchback segment car.It was mainly manufactured in the thought of providing better quality.The new facelifted version of Hyundai i10 seems very dynamic than its predecessor.Its nose has been replaced by round headlamps, wider air intake, central radiator grille with a single horizontal chrome slat with centrally positioned Hyundai logo and new bumper style.Its impressive exterior change is the turn indicators merged with ORVMs.It comes packed with two engines namely 1.1 IRDE2 and 1.2 Kappa2 petrol engines.The 1.1 IRDE2 engine has three variants namely D-Lite, Era and Magna and similarly the variants of 1.2 Kappa2 engine are Magna 1.2, Sportz, Sportz (O), Sportz AT, Asta and Asta (O) AT.Let us now see in detail about the features of Hyundai i10.
Engine and Mileage
Hyundai i10 has only petrol version and it features two types of petrol engines viz 1.1 IRDE2 and 1.2 Kappa2 as already mentioned above.The former type engine offers a power of 66.6PS and creates a torque of 10.1 k-gm.Likewise,the engine mentioned secondly offers a power of 80PS and a torque of 11.4 k-gm.Both petrol engines of i10 yields a very good engine performance and offers an
i10 mileage of 20 KMPL.
The two petrol engines of the new facelifted version of i10 is packed delivers a maximum power of 69 PS at 5500 rpm & produces a torque of 10.1 kgm at 4500 rpm and i10 kappa offers 80 PS power at 6,000 rpm and 11.4 kgm torque at 4000 rpm respectively.
Design and Engineering
Exteriors
The real fact of the new i10 is that it looks so different and hard to identify as i10.The central portion of i10 features the skewed hexagonal front end treatment of the grille and the air dam present in it is splitted by a horizontal frame.The other side of the air dam possess the black shrouded inserts for the multi-reflector fog lights which are available on the high-end Asta variants.The headlamps have been redesigned to go with the hexagonal design theme and on the whole it makes the new i10 to be extremely dynamic.
Interiors
The interior of i10 has enough storage space and cup holders.The front seats are not quite fashioned and the gadget board is also wide-ranging in i10.Some of its luxurious features are powered and electronically heated outside door mirrors,height adjustable driver seat,electronic fuel indicator,gear shift indicator.etc.,Its seating capacity is five members and its boot capacity is 225 litres.It holds an outstanding air conditioner and an in-built MP3 facilitated player.
Fuel Economy
The powerful engines of Hyundai i10 offers a very good fuel efficiency.The main advantage of the engine of i10 is that its extra performance does not affect the fuel efficiency at any cost.
Safety Measures
As such other cars,the ABS prevents wheel lock-up during sudden braking condition and the Dual Front Airbags provide safety in case of collision and offers a cushioning effect.Its other safety features involve Front Seat Belts with Pretensioner, Seat Belt Warning Lamp, Door Open Warning Lamp, ABS Warning Lamp, Seat Belt Reminder, Clear Lens Fog Lamps, Rear Combination Lamps, Tubeless Tyres, Engine Immobilizer, Child Locks and Central Locking.
Stereo and Accessories
The five variants of i10 namely Sportz, Sportz AT, Asta, Asta w Sun Roof, and Asta AT features an advanced CD/MP3 compatible music system with FM along with Speakers offering best in class entertainment.It is also batched with powerful refined rotary type Air Conditioner for keeping cool even during the hot summer season.The newly launched facelifted Hyundai i10 sports AUX and USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity; the audio and Bluetooth controls are now mounted on the steering wheel.
Wheels
The wheels of Hyundai i10 measures 14 inch and the 5.0Jx14 fully covered steel wheels adds more style to its exterior look. Hyundai i10 is fitted with puncture resistant tube less tyres with the tyre size of 155/80 R13.

It is the base variant of
Hyundai i10 that comes with 1.1L, IRDE engine but it does not possess certain standard features like Adjustable Steering Wheel, Central Locking, Power Windows, Wheel Covers, Tachometer, CD/MP3 Player, Fog Lamps and Body Colored Bumpers.
Hyundai i10 Era
This variant also comes with 1.1L, IRDE engine and it also holds some additional features such as Central Locking, Power Windows (Front) and Body Colored Bumpers.
Hyundai i10 Magna
This variant of i10 features new Kappa engine. It has few additional features like Adjustable Steering Wheel, Wheel Covers and Tachometer.
Hyundai i10 Magna AT
This variant of Hyundai i10 occupies the same features of i10 Magna but the only difference is that it comes with automatic transmission.
Hyundai i10 Sportz
This variant of Hyundai i10 also carries Kappa engine and the additional features of this variant are CD/MP3 Player, Rear Defogger, Rear Wash Wiper etc.
Hyundai i10 Sportz AT
This variant of Hyundai i10 offers the same features of Hyundai i10 Sportz.In addition to that,it also holds automatic transmission.

It is the top end variant of Hyundai i10 that carries the same feature that Hyundai i10 Asta offers, only the difference is that it comes with Sun Roof.
