Mini has extended its portfolio in the Cooper series with the launch of John Cooper Works (JCW). The range-topping new JCW model is a 3-door hatchback which has been brought to India as a CBU and so available at an aggressive price tag of Rs.43.5 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Mini JCW gets the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine of Cooper S which is now more powerful and delivers 231hp and 320Nm of peak power and torque outputs. Transmission duties are handled by an eight-speed automatic gearbox. JCW boasts an aggressive styling with bold looks and sporty exterior theme. The car features many goodies including 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors with a reverse camera, adaptive suspension, Apple CarPlay compatibility, navigation, adaptive Matrix LED lights, a panoramic sunroof and so on. The Mini JCW costs Rs.9.2 lakhs more than the Cooper S 3-door model which is currently available at Rs.34.2 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
