Chevrolet Adra Review
The Chevrolet plans to debut its new compact Sports Utility Vehicle called as “Adra” at the upcoming Auto Expo Event, 2014. The new Adra is definitely based on the Gamma 2 platform and it will be a very tough competitor to its similar other cars such as Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano, Renault Duster and some upcoming cars.
The new car will be a more compact version of Trax or an entirely new vehicle. The car is expected to feature a lot of futuristic design cues and styling bits. The price of petrol variant will be approximately Rs.7.5 lakh while the diesel variant of the Adra will be around Rs.8.5 lakh.
The Chevrolet Adra will be available with a length of 3990 mm and it has five doors for opening. The seating arrangements of the new car will be really comfy with the seats and it can hold seven members without any trouble. The Adra will be expected to have some standard features which includes Air Conditioner, Power Windows, Driver Bags, Foldable Rear Seat, Cup Holders, Front Fog Lights etc.
The Adra will be powered by the 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine on the basis of Sail and Enjoy where as the petrol powered variant will have 1.2 litre engine similar to Beat with a different tune or an all-new small capacity turbo engine. The car will be provided with four number of cylinders and the valves per cylinder is also four. In order to handle easily, the Adra will have a power steering feature.
The petrol variant of the car will generate the displacement of 1200 cc where as the diesel variant of the car can produce the displacement of 1300 cc respectively. The diesel engine of the car will produce the maximum power output of 77 BHP.
It is believed to have disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear which helps to stop the vehicle suddenly in case of any emergency situation. Not only the braking, will the suspension of the car also be good to handle at any type of road condition. It is expected that the Adra will have Anti Lock Braking System, Child Safety Lock, Tubeless Tyres, Central Locking in order to enhance more safety and security.
