Hyundai comes out with ratifications in i20 snags

The ongoing tussle over the problems related to the Air-conditioning and rattling in Hyundai’s i20 [images] seems to be settled. The company now is all set to ratify the complications in low cooling in i20 which made customers dissatisfied and irritated. The condition in case of customers belonging to Northern India is worst However, the initial Alto sells as the areas are affected by hot waves. Additional snag came by way of continuous rattling.

To overcome these hiccups, Hyundai is coming out with ECM reprogram for exact cooling in AC units of the car. To get rid of rattling Hyundai placed urethane pad and yoke spring as options. The customers will avail these corrections free of cost and the ratifications are meant for those who are really affected, said the company sources. The customers who intend to set right these complications may contact their local dealers for necessary information. For this purpose, the customers are expected to spell out their case along with their car’s registration number, said Hyundai.

More Maruti retail dealers in another 5 years

Maruti Suzuki, who enjoys the rank as the country’s top most brand and seller, is planning to increase its retail outlets, possibly to1500 (from the existing 828), in a span of another five years. This was disclosed by the company’s GM for Marketing Partho Banerjee. The move comes in the wake of Maruti’s venture to reach every district and taluk areas after ascertaining the prospects, based on the economic factors of the local conditions.

In Kerala where Maruti’s sale volume is 1000 monthly units, the company wants to penetrate the nooks by adding more outlets to number 100, from the current 59. Alto K10 [images] was recently launched in this state and the company detailed that the new version will have refined suspension, enhanced brake system, more spacing for rear seating, cable type transmission. 20000 monthly units in the country out of which Kerala constitutes 2700 units. He said the new version Alto K10 may boost the net sales in coming months. The new version is to cost Rs3.02 lakh (LXI) and Rs3.15 lakh (VXI).

The export volume in last year was 1.5 lakh comprising 80% of A-Star, and

the major area has been Europe, he added. So far the net sale in last year crossed

one million. For the current year, due to production constraints the growth is not

projected but the company is making all out efforts to increase. Q1 of this fiscal

has seen the growth of 26% in the auto industry.

Ford hikes Figo prices

Ford has raised the prices of its flagship hatchback Figo. The Figo has become more expensive by around Rs 4,244 starting August 1. The base price of the petrol variant in Delhi is Rs 3.53 lakh.

The prices of all Figo variants have been increased to a maximum of 1.2 per cent. The company has attributed this to rising input costs. “Ford India has marginally increased the price of Figo starting August 1 due to market undulations on input costs. Keeping in mind the value for money commitment, the maximum price increase on a Figo variant will not exceed 1.2 per cent,” said Mr Michael Boneham, President and Managing Director, Ford India.

The Figo, which has seen over 25,000 bookings since launch, is priced between Rs 3.53-4.46 lakh for the petrol variant and Rs 4.51-5.31 lakhs for the diesel variant.

Yamaha launches SZ 150, SZ-X 150 and YBR 125

As you read it, Yamaha today launches two new bikes – SZ and YBR 125. SZ 150  comes in two variants – SZ and SZ-X. The other bike is the 125cc variant of Yamaha YBR. Yamaha SZ-X is priced  Rs52,000.  SZ which is powered by an 153cc engine is priced Rs49,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). YBR 125cc is priced Rs47,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

YBR 125cc Specifications

YBR 125cc the upgraded variant of YBR 110. YBR 125cc gets its engine from its sibling Gladiator SS/RS. YBR 125cc mill generates identical power rating of 10.88PS at 7500rpm and 10.4Nm at 6500rpm. However YBR 125cc gets only a 4-speed gearbox. YBR uses drum brakes at the front and the rear. It rides on 2.75-18 4PR/  3.00-18  6 PR tyre and sports telescopic forks at the front and swing arm at the rear. YBR 125cc is longer and taller than YBR 110cc. YBR 125cc is 2065mm longer, 730mm wider and 1100mm taller. The wheelbase of YBR 125 is 1300mm.

Yamaha SZ specifications and features

Yamaha SZ and SZ-X powered by an 153cc engine develops 12.1PS of peak power at 7500rpm and 12.8Nm of peak torque at 4500rpm. Both Yamaha SZ and SZ-X comes with a five speed manual transmission and wet type clutch. SZ and SZ-X runs on 17″ alloy wheels with fatter 100/90 rear tyre. The dimensions of Yamaha SZ are 2050mm*730mm*1040mm (length * breadth* height). However Yamaha SZ-X is slightly taller it stands at 1100mm. But both have identical wheelbase – 1320mm. Fuel tank capacity is 14litres. Yamaha SZ will be available in two colours – Red and Black. Yamaha SZ-X will be available in red,black and grey. While the Yamaha SZ comes with alloy wheels it gets only kick start and drum brake. SZ-X which gets electric start lacks disc brake
