Maruti’s much expected RIII MPV is finally getting shape.  Maruti RIII based on Ritz platform is aimed mass passenger mover segment. Here are few technical specifications of Maruti R3 which you would love to know about
R3 will have petrol and diesel engine options. While the R3 diesel  is the known SX4 DDIs engine developing 89bhp of peak power. Maruti will give the R3 an all new  K14 engine. 1.4L engine developing 95bhp of peak power and 130Nm of peak torque will power this mass mover.  With a wheel base of 2740mm, R3 should carry 7 passengers comfortably. R3 will take on Mahindra xylo and Tata sumo grande and pricing would be around Rs8lakhs.  If maruti can imitate the aggressive pricing of eeco, it would be shot in the arm for maruti which aspires to be a complete automaker

LML to launch Star 200

LML plans to launch Star 200 in India as its Flagship model.Star is a 200cc four stroke motorcycle which holds a four speed hand shift gearbox generating a power of 11.5bhp and a maximum torque of 14.5Nm.LML claims that Star 200 is capable of giving an impressive mileage of 50kmpl.Star 200 4T will come under the premium scooter segment and its price and launching details are not known.

Garware Motors to launch 3 Hyosung bikes in India

Pune-based Garware Motors announced today that it will launch three new models of Hyosung bikes by the end of 2012.The new models of Hyuosung will feature a lower engine capacity.

Garware Motors already has two models of Hyosung namely 650cc GT650R and 700cc ST7.The company has set up an assembly facility in Pune investing Rs.22 crores and has an installed capacity of 8-10 bikes per day.

Regarding this,the President of Garware Motors,Mr.Shrikant Patankar reported that they will be launching three new models which may have engine capacity of 250 CC and 400 CC.This launch will happen next year.He said that they will look at sourcing components except engine parts from India as they are keen to expand their market here.

He also added that Garware is looking to sell 2,000 Hyosung superbikes this year.It plans to expand its dealership network to 15 by the end of this fiscal.They will be opening more outlets at several places including Hyderabad, Maharashtra,Haryana,Punjab,etc.,

After the launch of two Hyosung bikes in India,Garware Motors has secured orders for supplying 180 bikes across the country, with major booking coming from Pune,Delhi and Mumbai.

Force Motors to launch Force One

Force motors today announced its new SUV to be christened as “Force One”.  As you know, Force Motors has been testing a new SUV. The much touted Force one will mark the force motors foray into the passenger vehicle segment. Force one is based on a chinese SUV   ans is made on conventional body on frame chassis. Force has used the popular mercedes engine (OM 611) to power the force one. Force one 2.2L CRDi engine develops 140bhp of peak power and 350Nm.of peak torque.  Force one will come initially in two wheel drive variant and later 4WD variant would be launched. Force one will mark the third homegrown automaker after Tata and Mahindra to foray into the suv segment. Force one is likely to be priced around Rs10 lakhs. Force motors will later launch an MPV and an all new SUV before 2013.

GM unveils Beat electric

Electric version of the small car Beat has been showcased today by General Motors India.GM also plans to showcase it in countries like Korea,China and Germany.

The electric Beat powered by a lithium-ion battery can go up to a minimum Kilometre of 130 in a single charge under normal driving conditions.

Regarding this,the President and Managing Director of GMI,Mr.Karl Slym reported that they are delighted that Chevrolet selected India as an important market to test battery electric technology,while recognising the capabilities of their engineering team to help identify ways to make this technology more affordable.

Renault to roll out hatchback during 2012 Auto Expo

Renault,the French Auto giant announced that it will bring a new hatch back in India to compete with Maruti’s Swift during the Auto Expo to be held in January 2012.The car will belong to the same segment of Maruti’s premium hatchback Swift.

Regarding this,Renault Executive Vice President,Mr.Philippe Klein reported that in January 2012 they will launch a hatchback in B to B+ segment and it is specifically designed for the Indian customers by their Mumbai centre.He informed that the company will launch its sports utility vehicle new Koleos by the end of 2011.

Klein also said that after the hatchback, their fourth car for the Indian market will be a SUV and its the Duster.They will launch it in the second half of 2012.

This will be the third car launched by the company in the country after the sedan Fluence and Koleos.The company had announced the launch of five vehicles by the end of 2012.

Fiat to revamp Indian strategy

In order to reinforce the sales drop,Fiat India plans to redo its product and distribution strategy.Recently, the top officials from its Italian parent have visited India to assist the Indian management rebuild Fiat’s brand in the country.

Hence the Italy based Fiat has aspired to launch three new cars in India.One will be a facelifted Punto,an upgraded version of Punto and the third one will be a new small car.

The sales of the current products of Fiat India namely Punto and Linea are also getting decreased slowly.Currently,Fiat is in discussion with dealers to set up separate showrooms so that the Fiat brand gets an identity of its own.

Fiat cars are currently sold in India through the Tata Motor dealerships.A senior official informed that although Fiat India will look at separate showrooms,Tatas will continue to support the marketing efforts.

Bajaj Discover 125 – Review

Discover 125cc once ruled the 125cc segment for a longer time shown door by the Bajaj for the sake of XCD. But XCd bombed at the market. Suddenly, Bajaj has somersaulted from top to bottom with mere Platina 125cc in the segment. Bajaj strategy was to convert the customers of 100cc segment to more profitable 125cc segment. But it failed and bajaj went to drawing board again and launched Discover 100cc and discover 150cc. Now it has come up with Discover 125cc.

Nissan to launch Infiniti: Toyota to bring lexus

Buoyed the success of Nissan products and seeing the growth of luxury cars in india. Nissan plans to bring in its premium brand infiniti range of super cars to India.  Nissan Motor Company is surveying the Indian market for the launch of its ‘Infiniti’ range of super-luxury cars, said Mr Gilles Normand, Corporate Vice-President — Africa, Middle East and India, Nissan Motor Company. As expected, Infiniti range of cars will be imported as CBU initially till the threshold volume post which nissan may look at assembling infiniti cars in india.

Toyota to launch Lexus

Toyota is seriously mulling to bring in Lexus brand to India and grab a share in fastly growing luxury car market. Hiroshi Nakagawa, MD of Toyota Kirloskar Motors, said the company was considering a series of new initiatives as it expands in India. “We are studying, and now more deeply considering to bring Lexus to India,” Nakagawa said. “India is a key focus market for Toyota and we are looking at ways to increase our footprint as well as product offerings,” said Sandeep Singh, deputy MD (sales & marketing). Toyota to launch liva on June 27th

Toyota which delayed the launch of Liva owing to its constrain in the production capacity is now set to storm the market with the Liva. Etios liva will be launched on June 27th. Liva will follow the footpritts of etios, it will come only in petrol variants initially. Liva is powered by an 1.2L engine and is expected to be priced around Rs4.25 lakhs. The top end variants of liva equipped with ABS and Airbags may cost around Rs5.5 lakhs. Liva will take on Maruti Swift, Volkswagen Polo and Nissan Micra in the segment.
