Toyota which will launch the Etios on December 01st has clearly said Etios will be the only entry level car from Toyota. While India market is getting ready for second round of small car from majors like Honda and Fiat, Toyota says that the company has no intention of producing a small car below Etios. “Toyota has no intention to go lower than Etios,” Toyota Executive Vice-President, Mr Yukitoshi Funo. Fiat which has already punto hatchback is already working on Indian specific small that would be positioned below Punto. Similarly, Honda which will soon launch its small car 2CV (scooped as Honda Brio) recently said that it would produce a car that would compete against the likes of alto and spark. Toyota wishes to make the Etios its entry level car which is expected to be priced between Rs4 and Rs4.5 lakhs.
