Fiat replaces AC kits for Punto and Linea

Tuning to the customers complaint, Fiat India is replacing Air condition kits of petrol powered linea and punto. “This is a goodwill gesture on our part where we are acting proactively to a minor issue we felt in the air conditioning system of all petrol powered Punto and Linea,” said the Fiat India spokesperson.

“We received complaints mostly from the north and some western parts of the country that the ACs were not cooling the cabin adequately in temperatures of over 40 degrees. Hence all those customers in those regions are being contacted individually and offered this free of cost upgrade.” Fiat India is notifying customers of punto and linea in western and northern region to replace the AC kit for free of cost.

Chevrolet launches Beat LPG

Chevrolet has launched the LPG variant of beat. Like the spark, Beat also comes with sequential LPG kit. Beat also comes with next generation smartech engine. Chevrolet claims Beat LPG returns a mileage of 13.29kmpl. In addition, chevrolet claims the beat lpg has the following advantages  * Less weight
* No power loss
* No jerks and backfires which means smoother hassle-free transition from petrol to LPG and back.
* Better routing control and no kinking.
* No chance of inside/outside corrosion for life.
* The beat LPG kit is intelligently placed in the engine compartment, hence consuming lesser space and giving enough room for the passengers.
* The cabin space is not affected due to beat LPG kit and hence passengers can enjoy the same space as Beat petrol.

In addition to all above Beat LPG is first LPG vehicle in India to use High Pressure LPG pipes made of High Strength Nylon.

Mahindra launches Genio in India

Mahindra today announced the launch of Genio – pick-up variant of Xylo. The Genio pick-up is priced at Rs 4.99 lakh for the BS-III variant (ex-showroom Navi Mumbai). 1.2 tonne pickup will also be powered by the same mDi CRDe motor from the Xylo D2, but in a detuned state. The motor now produces 75bhp, 20bhp less than the Xylo D2, while the max torque remains identical at 22kgm.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, M&M said, “The Genio is a result of extensive consumer insight which captured the latent and expressed needs of the customer. The Genio is an ideal vehicle for businessmen, traders and SMEs. I am confident that it would be a game changer for the pickup segment in times to come.”

Mahindra already has its Bolero pick-up doing duty in the segment, which the manufacturer dominates with 75 percent market share. The segment has seen a growth of 5 percent in the pervious year and is expected to grow in double digits this year. The underperforming segment which had seen no new launches for the last four years – the most recent being the Bolero pick-up – needed fresh products to help it grow. The newly launched Genio will now directly compete with the Tata 207 Di.

The Genio is available in BS-IV variant as well which will be around Rs 15000-18000 dearer than the BS-III version. Offered in four attractive colour options – Silver Shine, Diamond White, Marvel Granite and Skyline Blue, the Genio will be available across 70 dealerships at the time of the launch.

Mahindra maxximo passenger variant specifications

Mahindra will soon launch a passenger variant of Maxximo. The launch may happen very soon (before the end of this month).  But days before the launch, we have all the specifications of the maxximo passenger variant. Here are they

Just like Tata which made magic out of Ace, Mahindra makes this passenger variant of maxximo for urban transport needs. Similar to maxximo, it is powered by the 2 cylinder 909cc m-hawk engine producing  24.65bhp of maximum power and a max torque of 55Nm between 1800 to 2200rpm. However the dimensions of the maxximo passnger variant is different. It has wheelbase of 1950mm, lengh of 3670mm and 1845mm height. The underpinning (read suspension and brake) remains the same. The passenger variant of maxximo  will come in 7 (6+Driver) and 8 (7+driver) seating options.  We have seen the vehicle in flesh. The design is cohesive with no change in front but seems like a maxximo added with a canopy. Like the tata magic, mahindra maxximo passenger variant also comes soft doors in the mid-row (instead of regular doors)

Tata to launch Manza Elan

Tata will soon a facelift its flagship sedan manza and rechristen it as Manza elan. Indigo Manza will be called Manza elan soon. Tata is said to be reworking its brand positioning  simply because terms like indica and indigo has become synonymous with cabs. Expect some add-ons on the exterior and interior of the manza elan. Tata will take on the Toyota etios with new manza elan.
