Tata to unveil Pixel

Tata motors will launch the new Pixel at the geneva auto show. Yesterday we told you about the tata new small car. Tata Pixel based on Nano platform could be the alternative to the Nano europa. Pixel will be powered by a 3 cylinder engine.  The three door Gull Winged  Pixel concept will be shown at the geneva auto show. Mr.Ratan Tata chariman of tata group will unveil the pixel concept to the world. It is expected to have Nano dimension of size, which are a little over 3 metres, but will have much larger interiors and design developed keeping in mind the much demanding European customers in mind.  Pixel concept will turn into reality by 2013. Tata to unveil a new small car

Tata motors is all set to storm the market with the unveiling of a new small car concept. However this time the car is not meant for indian market but with an eye on european market. The 3-door and 4-seater concept car will be unveiled at the upcoming geneva auto show.  Tata new small car will be on the size of Nano.  Tata motors could produce the car in India and would enter the European market by 2013. “The idea of a compact car with a lot of space for Europe is clearly an interesting idea,” Mr Forster, CEO, Tata Motors said.

Honda to launch Brio in March

Sensing the situation, Honda plans to advance the launch of its much expected car Brio. Honda which showcased brio few months said that the car would hit the market in september after the launch in thailand. But the japanese manufacturer seems to have advance brio launch date to pull customers away from etios – which is set to launch in April. Remember, a day before the Toyota launched etios, Honda showcased the Brio to the world.

Honda could launch the Brio on March 17th. However the deliveries of brio will begin only by August – September. Honda may start inviting bookings few months before the launch. Brio is expected to be priced around Rs4.5 lakhs. Creating the hype, piling up the orders and delivering it later seems to be the new mantra of all automakers.

Mahindra Stallio faces problems

As typical of any new entrant, Mahindra faces serious challenges in the two wheeler industry. As we reported to you long time back, Stallio stalls Mahindra’s run Stallio has run into rough patch with niggling problems. Media reports claim Mahindra stallio faces issues in gearbox and clutch. Sales number of stallio has slumped since its peak in october – 3,350 units. Stallio has been falling since then–to 2,759 units in November, 716 in December and 421 units in January, according to Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

However, Mahindra is yet to officially inform the stallio customers and is repairing motorcycles only on receiving any customer’s complaint says WSJ. With the unavailability of these rectified parts, production of stallio is said to be  stopped. With Mojo hitting the market soon, Mahindra needs to set the things right quickly. Remember, Mahindra has been successfully selling the Rodeo and duro scooters. We wish the indian manufacturer to come back stronger..

Tata indica gets new engine

Tata today announced launch of new Indica which comes BSIV compliant engine. Ever since indica vista bombed in the market, tata has been trying to get back the older indica to the prime. Tata claims the new indica is India’s most fuel efficient car. Indica will also have a host of other exciting features. The new indica engine packs in 32% increase in power, 65% increase in torque along with a 46% improvement on fuel efficiency.

Indica now revs up to 70 PS power @ 4000 RPM and delivers 140 Nm torque at 1800-3000 RPM. The car is now far more peppy, light, responsive and smart. Besides, improved drivability, the new Tata Indica will offer fresh exterior and interior looks and class defining features.

Bajaj launches new discover

Following the footsteps of its peers, Bajaj is following its new philosophy of “less is more”. Bajaj has launched new discover albeit with stickers. The 2011 edition of Discover 100 will have new premium and innovative multi-colour decals in two options of gold green and red magenta. The key feature of this multi colour decal is ‘Auto Colour change’.

It is a very innovative and premium feature introduced for the first time in the motor-cycle industry and also possibly in the entire auto industry, the company said in a statement. Bajaj has also appointed 130 new dealers to widen its base across india. Bajaj is working on a completely new pulsar which will hit the market in 2011 itself.

Victory motorcycles to launch bikes in India

Following the Harley Davidson, Victory motorcycles plans to foray into the indian market. Victory motorcycles has already a subsidiary in india to do feasibility study as per media reports. Victory motorcycles will be showcasing its models in 2012 auto expo to gauge the response of the indian customers. If things go right, victory motorcycles may launch bikes in 2012 itself.

It is unclear that victory motorcycle will import bikes as CBU or will assemble in Indian market. Victory Motorcycles, which is owned by Polaris Industries, currently has operations in Germany, Spain, New Zealand, France, Scandinavia, the United States, and the UK.

Maruti launches SX4 diesel

Maruti today launched the much awaited SX4 diesel in India. Ever since the Maruti rolled out SX4 petrol, speculations on sx4 diesel were in full steam. We informed you last year that Maruti will launch the SX4 diesel in 2011 February. Maruti launched a diesel variant of its SX4 sedan at an introductory price of Rs 7.74-8.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).  “The new age diesel technology as offered by SX4 is high on power and performance, while being low on emissions. SX4 diesel offers an economical and punchier ride,” Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi told reporters.

Ford today officially announced the launch of new Fiesta in India. his marks the first in a series of eight new global products that Ford plans to introduce in India by the middle of this decade. Announcing the new Fiesta’s eagerly awaited arrival, Michael Boneham, president and managing director, Ford India said, “We are delighted the new Fiesta is coming to India. It will provide Indian customers a premium sedan that reflects their personality in terms of style, technology and performance, and will add a new level of diversity and dynamism to our showrooms.”
