Volkswagen,the second largest car manufacturer in the world has launched its new Jetta in India at a starting price of Rs.14.12 lakhs.The top end variant of the new Jetta may cost up to Rs.18 lakhs.It is damn sure that the new VW Jetta will definitely compete with Skoda’s Laura in the D segment sedan.

The new Jetta has been built on the Golf platform and hence it features a longer wheelbase.It is available in both petrol and diesel engine options.It is powered by a new 1.8 litre petrol and a new 2 litre diesel engines.The new 2 litre diesel engine of the Jetta pumps out a maximum power of 140bhp.

It also holds some impressive features which include a spacious interior and the presence of a six speed gearbox with DSG automatic transmission which endeavours an attractive mileage of 19.33kmpl.

Maruti today launched the much awaited next generation swift.

“We have launched the new Swift at a time when there was a significant demand for the outgoing model. I am confident that the new Swift will create new benchmarks with its improved fuel efficiency, stylish and sportier looks and high performance,” Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi.

Tata Motors which recently launched the 4*2 version of Aria,now plans to introduce the compact version of its Manza.We can also soon expect the facelifted version of Indica Vista from Tata Motors.The company with the aim of expanding its range,plans to bring more variants to its existing portfolio.

The new compact version of Manza is built on the same platform of the currently existing Manza.The new sedan has a longer wheelbase and hence it features a larger boot and spacious rear seat leg-room.Its measured total length is less than 4 metres.It is to be powered by the same 1.4 litre SAFIRE and 1.3 litre Quadrajet engines of the current Manza.Tata Motors may launch the new Manza by this year end or by early 2012.

Suzuki plans to launch the upgraded version of its 150-cc bike GS150R with a facelift by October 2011.As the 150cc segment is becoming one of the most diverse and rapidly growing segments in India,the two-wheeler manufacturers are now showing keen in producing 150cc bikes.This also include Yamaha’s YZF R15 which is to arrive very soon in the Indian market.The new GS150R of Suzuki will feature new body colours and graphics along with a new exhaust system.It is expected at a same price tag of Rs.68,695(OTR,Pune).

The spy pictures of Maruti’s new RIII has been found.The new RIII will come under the segment of Maruti’s low cost MUV.The concept of RIII offers a fashionable and an elegant look to the car.But the car doesn’t look much glamour.The front part of RIII features a raked bonnet and a two-tier grille.RIII has a seating capacity of seven members holding three row of seats.The aggressiveness of its design has been reduced in order to match the production specifications and costs.It is to come in both petrol and diesel engine options.

Tata Motors plans to launch the facelifted version of Indica Vista soon in India.It will be holding many new additional features such as all-new chrome grille,new double-barrel headlamps,redesigned tail-lamps,a new tailgate and refreshed features such as reworked front bumper,redesigned tail-lamps.It will be featuring the current engine range which includes 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre petrol engines and a 1.3 litre common rail diesel engine.

Today, Toyata Kirloskar Motor rolled out its new limited edition of multi utility vehicle christened as Innova Crysta. The Toyota Innova Crysta comes with a cost of Rs.13.13 lakh in Ex-showroom Delhi.

Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director of TKM reveals that the Innova has been their flagship brand in India and has been a market leader since launch. The new limited edition Innova Crysta is aimed at offering exclusive ownership experience by offering enhanced luxury features. Further he adds that the company will market only 1,000 units of the limited edition of the vehicle till October, 2011.

At the occassion of the launch, TKM expresses that the new variant of Innova Crysta will be powered by a 2.5-litre diesel engine and will possess Bharat Stage-III and IV emission norms options.

Mahindra & Mahindra,one of the leading auto maker in India plans to launch its new global SUV on September 26,this year.The new SUV has been codenamed as W201.The company is also getting ready for the launch of its new flagship.

W201 is powered by a transverse engine which drives the front wheels.It has got a very attractive curved Mahindra grille and highly mounted,swept back headlamps.It features rising beltline and tapered roof which offers an air of compactness.

Its new unique features are a new transaxle and an all-new,cable-operated gearbox with five and six-speed options which has been developed with help from Ricardo.W201 is also expected to hold good features such as traction control, ESP, and hill descent control.

W201 features a 2.2 litre mHawk engine which is transversely located and pumps out a power of 120bhp to 140bhp.It will produce a maximum torque of around 32.6kg.In order to boost the power output up to 170bhp,the company plans for a twin turbo version in the future.The new W201 could cost around Rs.13 lakhs for the base 2WD version.

Hindustan Motors,in order to improve its top line plans to launch a series of commercial vehicles in this fiscal year.The company also plans to launch two sports utility vehicles from the Mitsubishi table at an investment of Rs.70 crores.

Of the two SUVs,one will be a seven-seater vehicle named Mitsubishi Outlander and will be launched in the quarter of October – December.The second SUV will be launched by January 2012 and will be priced below Rs.30 lakhs.

Mr.Manoj Jha,Managing Director of HM informed that they are planning to introduce more commercial vehicles this year.Regarding the future launches,he said that the company has already lined up two new models on Ambassador and Winner platforms.The new models will hit the market in October.

According to him,Hindustan Motors expects to turn the corner by 2013-14, provided it operates at full capacity in all three units in West Bengal, Chennai and Indore.He finally said that they are expecting to earn profits at an annual production of approximately 50,000 units.They hope to reach the targeted levels in 2013-14.
