Mahindra launches refreshed Bolero

Mahindra & Mahindra,one of the leading car maker in India has launched an updated version of its best-selling MUV – the Bolero.The new Bolero features the same Low-Cost-Common-Rail(LCCR) engine of Scorpio EX which delivers a power of 75bhp and offers a mileage of 15.96kpl.

The upgraded Bolero has a more prominent look as its grill now features a darker grey shade.It sports an all-new front bumper holding restyled headlamps, decals and spare-wheel cover.There are no alloy wheels present but has a rear wiper with a defroster.

The new Bolero features major changes in its interiors which include the beige coloured plastics,an all-new digital instrument console,the new leather-wrapped steering wheel,dual-tone shaded seats and the centre console with wood trims.It is launched at a starting price of Rs.6.19 lakhs.

Honda City FaceLift

We can soon expect the facelifted version of Honda City as its spy pictures has been caught recently.The new City will be powered by the same 1.5-litre i-Vtec engine which pumps out a power of 116bhp.As like the existing City,the new City also holds the seating capacity of five members and a large,practical boot.

The modified features of the facelifted City includes a re-profiled front and rear bumpers, a slightly restyled grille holding chrome leading edges, re-designed tail-lamps, a new set of alloy wheels and re-styled side- view mirrors.The top spec ‘V’ model of new City is likely to get a sunroof also.Hope this new facelift will appeal to more customers at a lovable price tag.

Toyota Etios Diesel – Specifications and Features

Toyota kicks off Etios Diesel

You need to know about the launch of Etios Diesel right! Toyota kicked off its Sedan type car christened as Etios Diesel. Etios Diesel comes in three variants – GD, VD, and VXD. Toyota provides six different shades of Etios Diesel which includes Arctic White, Brilliant Black, Ibis White, Ice Silver Metallic, Avus Silver Pearl etc.

Toyota Etios Diesel is housed with a 4-cylinder 8V SOHC, D-4D engine with the displacement of 1364 cc. The engine of the car discharges the peak power of 68 PS @ 3800 RPM and 170 NM @ 1800-2400 RPM torque which is similar to the Liva Diesel.

The length and width of the Etios Diesel is 4265 mm and 1695 mm while the height is 1510 mm. It is having a wheelbase of about 2550 mm and 170 mm of ground clearance. The turning circle radius of the Etios Diesel is just 4.9 mm. And the fuel tank capacity of the car is measured as 45 litres.

Toyota Etios Diesel offers a neat luggage space of about 595 litres which is very spacious while compared to Liva Diesel. The Etios Diesel sports a 5 speed manual transmission. Etios Diesel comes with a MacPherson Strut front suspension and Torsion Beam rear suspension.

The tyre size of the GD variant Etios Diesel is 175/65 R14 and kerb weight is 990 kg. Likewise, the VD and VXD variant holds 185/60 R15 tyre size and 1005 kg kerb weight.

Toyota Liva Diesel – Specifications and Features

Toyota launches Liva Diesel

You heard about the launch of Liva Diesel right! Yes. Toyota launched its hatchback version named as Liva Diesel.

Toyota Liva Diesel is powered by a 4-cylinder 8V SOHC D-4D engine which delivers a maximum power of 68 PS @ 3800 RPM and 170 NM @ 1800-2400 RPM torque. Toyota Liva Diesel enters into the market in GD variant.

Toyota Liva Diesel is having 3775mm in length, 1695mm in width and 1510mm height respectively. The wheelbase of the car is 2460 mm and also the ground clearance is 170 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the Liva Diesel is nearly 45 litres and turning circle radius is just 4.8 m.

Liva Diesel holds a decent boot space of 251 litres and the transmission is of 5 speed manual type. Toyota set up the Liva Diesel with MacPherson Strut front suspension and Torsion Beam rear suspension.

Toyota also offers a lot of features for its Liva Diesel. Some of the features includes keyless entry, immobiliser, full wheel caps, internally adjust ORVM, electric power steering, sporty front headrest, day/night rear view mirror, colled glove box etc. In addition, it has Air Conditioner with Clean Air Filter, power windows and so on. Honda to introduce 100-cc bike next fiscal

HMSI,the Indian subsidiary of Honda plans to launch a 100-cc bike in the next financial year at a price of around Rs.45,000.The company also will launch a new scooter by this year end.The scooter will be 100 per cent localised.For the production of these two models,the company is investing an amount of Rs.400 crores.

Mr.N. K. Rattan,HMSI VP-Sales and Marketing informed that they will showcase a 100-cc bike at the Auto Expo in January and launch it next fiscal.He said they are looking to enter into the segment to consolidate their position.Already, they have a waiting period for two of their motorcycles in the country.

Rattan further said that they are investing in capacity expansion as their motorcycles have a waiting period.They expect to start production at their Rajasthan plant in early 2012 and the third plant in Karnataka by 2012.

HMSI sold 16.58 lakh units in 2010-11 and is targeting sales of 21 lakh units this fiscal.Besides, strengthening its product portfolio, the company is also mulling plans to increase its dealership network.For that,the company plans to add another 300 outlets by next fiscal in addition to the present 1220 outlets.

Fiat plans for stand-alone showrooms in 20 cities

Fiat,the Italian automobile major said that it will set-up stand-alone showrooms for its cars in 20 cities in India within one and a half years.It also said that however it will continue its co-manufacturing arrangement with Tata Motors.Fiat and Tata Motors share distribution facilities and co-manufacture products at the Ranjangaon facility in Maharashtra under a joint venture agreement between them in the year 2007.

Rajeev Kapoor,Fiat India President and Chief Executive reported that they will set up Fiat’s own showrooms in 20 cities within one-and-a- half years.According to him,the existing dealers in the 20 cities would now sell the Italian auto major’s cars in the new facilities.He said the dealers would be the same.They will now have new showrooms for Fiat cars.

However,the financial details for the new showrooms or further plans to introduce the concept in other cities is unknown.Fiat also plans to set up two Fiat cafes in New Delhi and Pune to promote its brand.

Maruti’s new MPV is Ertiga

Maruti has christened its all-new mini MPV RIII as Ertiga.The all-new Ertiga will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options.The petrol variant of Ertiga will feature an all-new K14 petrol engine which is to make its debut here.The K14 petrol engine is the largest version of the K-series in which the power and torque rates are much higher.

The 1372cc VVT motor of the petrol variant of Ertiga churns out a power of 95bhp and a torque of 13kgm.The diesel variant of Ertiga holds the same Fiat-designed,1.3 litre Variable Geometry Turbo(VGT) equipped DDiS motor of SX4 which delivers a power of 89bhp.

Ertiga is based on the Ritz platform and hence its nose looks very similar to that of Ritz featuring its slot-like grille and bulbous bonnet.However,its chin is somewhat different and is also much wider and bulkier than the hatchback.It features additional space and hence its wheelbase has been stretched up to 2740mm and the roof is also higher.

Maruti features the new Ertiga with quality interiors which are beige in colour and almost identical to the new Swift.It holds three rows of seats as Eeco.A roof-mounted blower is fitted in order to cool the second and third row of seats. Maruti will unveil the Ertiga at the Auto-Expo in January next year.Ertiga will be priced in the range of Rs.6-9 lakhs.

The 2.0 version of YZF-R15 has launched today by India Yamaha Motor.It is powered by a 150cc liquid-cooled four-stroke engine and has developed under the concept of “Graded Up R15?.Its three available colours are Racing Blue,Midnight Black & Sunset Red colors.It features spruced up looks and better performance in circuit riding.It is priced at Rs.1,07,000(Ex-showroom,Delhi).

Tata Motors today launched the Tata Indigo e-CS VX

Tata Motors, India’s leading auto maker rolled out its new variant of its most fuel efficient sedan christened as Tata Indigo e-CS VX in the Indian market. The new car comes in both petrol and diesel versions. The CR4 diesel version is available at a cost of Rs.5,80,339 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while the MPFi petrol version costs Rs. Rs 4,97,727 lakh respectively. The new car will compete with similar other cars like Hyundai Accent, Mahindra Verito, Toyota Etios and Maruti Swift Dzire.

The company claims that the new Indigo e-CS VX is the most fuel efficient sedan in the country with mileage of 25 km per liter. The new vehicle is powered by a 1396cc CR4 Common Rail diesel motor which delivers 69 bhp @ 4000 rpm and 14.2 kgm @ 1800-3000 rpm. The weight of the car has been lessened nearly 10 kg and enhanced the gear ratios which paves the way for excellent mileage. The Tata Indigo e-CS sports a dual-tone beige seating, a premium wood-finish centre console, rear centre armrest and a new instrument cluster with chrome rings. In addition, it holds ABS, Bluetooth connectivity and clutch-to-start.

The e-CS is designed with a 14 inch alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres for providing good fuel efficiency. As well as the wheel arches has been redesigned and consist of a satin finish front grille, integrated ORVMs along with blinkers which gives a good look.  The launch of new Indigo e-CS VX will further strengthen the position of Indigo e-CS range of cars in the Indian market by offering a varying degree of options to the buyers.
