Hyundai’s european i10 with diesel engine

Hyundai debuts the new i10 for the European market at the Bologna Motor Show. Hyundai made its world premiere of the i10 in india recently. The i10 that is to be sold in Europe and the Americas is almost identical to the one sold in India. As usual it differs from indian i10 by hosting a set of safety features.To launch in spring are two motors for the i10 available. The 1.1L petrol engine found in indian i10 has an optional automatic transmission for the european market. Hyundai says will top 60mpg average fuel consumption and produce carbon dioxide emissions of 119g/km. That means road tax of £35 and free entry into the London Congestion Charge zone, which could prove key to the i10’s sales target.

A new 1.1L, 3-cylinder CRDi engine with VGT(Variable Geometry turbo) develops 55KW/75bhp capable of reaching a maximum speed of 165km/h will power european i10. According to Hyundai, the the diesel i10 will consume 4.3 liters of diesel per 100km(23kmpl) and it CO2 emissions is 114g/km(less than the stipulated 120g/km). Hyundai will also develop a new 1.2-liter gasoline engine with about 59kW/80hp to power the i10. European i10 is more safer than the indian i10 with four airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP(Electronic Stability Program).The Hyundai i10 will also be covered by a five year, unlimited mileage warranty to provide peace of mind motoring for half a decade.

The German launch will be held from 07 to 09 March 2008 when Hyundai’s Spring Festival.The Hyundai i10 will be on sale in UK on 1st March 2008, pricing expected to start more than £6,500.  i10 is the standard in the colours Electric Red, Crystal White or virtual Yellow. As metallic paint finishes are optional colors Sleek Silver, Champagne Gold, Alpine Blue, Gray and Oyster Blushing Red choices.
