Mahindra to setup a new plant in Chennai

Mahindra and Mahindra will soon set-up a plant in Chennai, Tamilnadu.
“Mahindra and Mahindra has confirmed investment in the state and this would take the total car manufacturing capacity in Tamil Nadu to 1.4 million units per annum from the current 1.3 million units,” said M. Velmurugan, executive vice chairman, Guidance Bureau, Industries Department.

Remember, Mahindra-Renault-Nissan tried to build a manufacturing facility in Chennai. But Mahindra pulled out and said it would build a new plant on its own. Earlier, Mahindra said the plant would manufacture tractors but now it seems to be a passenger car plant
