Following the successful launch of all new Scorpio, Mahindra now plans to launch its next compact SUV named “Quanto AMT” by the end of this year.The Quanto gets equipped with an AMT that is Automated Manual Transmission especially for making the drive easier and cost effective.It also helps the automaker to increase its sale in the SUV segment.
The vehicle is employed by a new generation 1.5 litre mCR100 diesel engine that gets mated to the 5-speed automated manual transmission churning out at the maximum of 100 PS of power at 32750 RPM and torque of 240Nm between 1600-2800 RPM. The mileage might come up to 17.21 kmpl.
Autoshift that comes along with some advanced technologies that includes advanced electronic control and hydraulic actuation has been implemented mainly to sense the demand of power and to change the gear accordingly.This AMT unit has been developed in collaboration between Mahindra and Ricardo. Mahindra promises over the factors like hassle free driving experience and improved fuel economy through the provision of this transmission unit.
Apart from the mechanical changes,certain cosmetic upgradations have been made to both the exterior and the interior portions.The suspension system too have undergone some changes. The SUV gets the seating configuration of 5+2 flexible yoga seats with splits in a 60:40 ratio which can be folded for seating and storage space.It is expected that the Quanto will be priced higher than the regular Quanto Variants.
