Eye opener for Auto Expo 2008, New delhi – Part 3

Hero Honda:

Hero Honda will display its entire product line-up. Hunk will take the center stage. But as usual, rumours have already started stating Hero Honda will showcase Fuel Injected Karizma and CBZ X-treme.

Bajaj Auto: (update)

Bajaj will show two new products which might include a more powerful pulsar. Bajaj’s stall is also going to host orange beasts from KTM as the duo signed a JV earlier this year. Bajaj might also show prototypes of the GDi technology at the Auto Expo.

TVS:

TVS will also showcase its 125cc Flame, the 160cc fuel-injected Apache RTR and the Teenz EZ electric scooter. As usual TVS will showcase its race bikes and few concepts at the show.

Royal Enfield:

The thunderbird twinspark which features the integrated gearbox will be the sole attraction from the cult maker. Royal Enfield might also show its 500cc fuel-injected AVL engine.

LML and Scooters India will stay away from the 2008 delhi expo.

In the passenger section, this year will be most exciting with many world premieres and launches. Few manufacturers – Hyundai, General Motors and DaimlerChrysler who missed the last auto expo will be back this time.

General Motors: (update)

GM will use this expo to showcase it technological prowness to indian customers. Hummer H3 and Cadillac CTS will make a strong statement for chevrolet India. If you really want Hummer here, stay at the GM’s stall for a while, yes, General Motors is seriously mulling for possible launch of Hummer in India.

DaimlerChrysler (Mercedes India):

The new C-class to be launched in india soon will be showcased at the expo. The other highlights from the benz maker will be their current India range of the E, S and ML class as well as the SLK and even the CLS or CL sports coupes.

Hyundai: (update)

Hyundai will make the world premiere of i30 sedan (replacement for elantra) at the delhi auto expo. Hyundai will also display some of its finest concepts – karma Q and veloster.

Tata Motors: (update)

In addition to the new indica evolution,indigo compact,sumo phoenix and 1 lakh car ($2500) Tata will also break covers for the production ready elegante concept which will rival the Innova.

Fiat: (update)

Fiat the comeback company will bring its cute 500 (cinquecento) which is sure to steal the limelight. Fiat will also display the new powerful abarth grande punto. (The first car from the newly created Abarth & C. S.p.A)

Mahindra and Mahindra:

Mahindra will finally wraps off the cover for its much touted Innova rival Ingenio MUV. Scorpio hybrid based on the latest m_hawk platform will clearly indicate the M&M ambitious american dream. But the real show-stopper will be the Axe – the indian Humvee. Axe strong shoulders is sure to appeal men like anything.

Mahindra – Renault:

Logan MCV – next logan to hit the showrooms will be launched by Mahindra – Renault at the expo. But Renault is not going to be identified as cheap car maker india any more. The laguna luxury from no-frills logan maker will indicate the Renault’s new innings india. This laguna is likely to be launched in India in 2008. Logan eco2 concept the environmental friendly sedan from Renault will adhere to the green theme of the auto expo. Also on the show will be the CNG and LPG fuelled logan concept.

Mitsubishi – Hindustan:

What’s the best way to send a message, Mitsubishi will showcase its Outlander SUV that will rival the CR-V and other show debutants – Hyundai santa fe and Chevrolet Captiva.

Skoda: (update)

Skoda will display the soon to be launched Laura RS at the expo. Fabia estate, roomster and yeti concept will also be on the show.

Audi:

The new A4 launched in the Frankfurt Motor show will hit the indian roads in 2008. Merc and BMW customers have a look at the new A4, compared to the existing A4 it is more stylish and may be cheaper at the time of launch. Since, following the A6, Audi plans to make A4 in india soon. Audi will also display its A6 and facelifted A8. But the biggest attraction will be their 2007 Le Mans winning R10 TDI and the new TT.

DC design:

Dilip Chhabria car design guru will rock Auto Expo 2008 in New Delhi with two of his really wild creations. “There is something very special for the Auto Expo. We have created two concepts, which are really wild,” Chhabria said. Chhabria customised scorpio called scorpio first which hosts a set of new features was launched at the recently concluded Autocar performance show in Mumbai
