Renault, the French automobile manufacturer has unveiled its all new 1598cc fuel efficient engine. The 1.6 litre diesel engine can churn out maximum power output of 160 hp and maximum torque output of 380 Nm.
The engine has been equipped with two turbos which can lead the engine to produce good power output figures. The first turbo is used to produce high amount of low-end torque. So that the engine can deliver the fast power output and acceleration. The 90% of maximum torque can be produced at 1500 rpm. The second turbo is tuned to develop good power figures. This turbo can be able to generate maximum power output of 100 hp per litre of engine capacity.
The Company has given this engine with better fuel efficiency and lowest Co2 emissions. It includes a transverse water flow system which leads to the faster cooling of combustion champer. The new engine has incorporated with its F1 expertise in the field of “sophisticated turbochargers”, cooling and also the friction reduction. This engine will be available in its upcoming D and E segment models.
