Powering VW Polo 1.5 TDI,with fuel-efficieny options isn’t a slogan

Recently Volkswagen has released the updated version of its flagship  hatchback Polo at the cost starting from Rs.4.99 lakh – 8.00 lakh.To keep the promise of providing fuel-efficiency engine options, variants in both petrol and diesel have been designed. Thus,a 1.2 litre MPI petrol engine that produces a peak power of 74 bhp at 5400rpm with 110Nm of torque at 3750rpm prompts to provide mileage up to 16.47Km/l.While, the Polo diesel derives its power from a new 1.5 litre TDI unit that churns a maximum power of 89bhp at 4200rpm and a torque of 230Nm at 1500-2500rpm,inorder to render the mileage at  20.14Km/l.The new Polo measures 3,971mm in length, 1,682mm in width, 1,469mm in height and 2,469mm in wheelbase.

To ensure safety, features like driver and passenger airbag have been offered.Changes at the front include a small redesign for the headlamp, some chrome garnish on the grille and bumper and new fog lamps. All new 15-inch wheels get wrapped into  new Apollo Alnac tyres (Highline trim) while the rear gets very small revisions to the tail lamp design. The Polo’s strong points of good build quality remain and the new engine makes this more of a complete package.
