Maruti to recall 1,03,311 vehicles in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced the recall in order to replace faulty fuel filler neck. The recall will cover 1,03,311 units of Ertiga, Swift and Dzire manufactured between November 12,2013 and February 4,2014. The service campaign will include 42,481 units of Dzire, 47,237 units of Swift and 13,593 units of Ertiga.

The dealers will contact the customers and the replacement of fuel filler neck will be free of cost. The company said in a statement, “The customer is requested to fill in the chassis number (MA3 followed by 14 digit alpha-numeric number) on the computer screen. The chassis number is embossed on the vehicle ID plate and is also in the vehicle invoice / registration documents. Customers may also contact the nearest Maruti Suzuki dealer workshop to ascertain if their vehicle is among the above vehicles.”

Last year, the company had recalled the models like Swift, Dzire, Ertiga and A-Star for faulty steering column. The last major recall was done by the company in February 2010. At that time the company had recalled 1lakh units of A-Star in order to replace a faulty fuel pump gasket. It also included the exporting models for that recall.
