Mahindra plans to debut a new variant of Quanto at 2014 Auto Expo. The new variant of Quanto will be an AMT version of Quanto. The Quanto will get the same 1.5 litre, three cylinder, turbo diesel engine. The engine can generate maximum power output of 98.6 bhp and maximum torque output of 240Nm.
Recently, Mahindra has added “Yoga seats” to the Quanto.Now the company plans to include the AMT or semi automatic gearbox with its Quanto. The Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) is an important feature of heavy duty vehicles.The semi automatic gearbox can eliminate the manual clutch by making gear shifting. AMT is lighter than automatic gear boxes. So the overall weight can be minimized which leads to better fuel efficiency.
