Kawasaki to launch Z250 naked street bike by mid 2014

Kawasaki, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer plans to launch its Z250, naked street version of Ninja 250. The company has already unveiled this 250cc naked version at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show. It gets 249cc, parallel-twin, liquid cooled, fuel-injected engine with 6 speed gear box.  The engine is derived from the Z250 engine. The engine can churn out peak power of 32.5 bhp at 11,000 rpm and peak torque of 22 Nm. The engine is mated to six speed gearbox.

The Z250 measures 750 mm in width and 1025 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1405 mm. The overall weight of the bike is 168 Kg. It  includes a compact headlamp cowl, new speedometer with white LED, redesigned side mirrors, diamond shaped chassis which provides higher stiffness.

It gets wider handlebars, redesigned instrument cluster which includes analog tachometer, fuel indicator and multi function LCD screen displays. Kawasaki will import this  Z250 as a CKD (Completely Knocked down Units) in India. We can expect the price of  this naked street bike  at a price of Rs. 3 lakhs approximately. The major competitors are Inazuma 250, CBR 250R and Duke 200. It will launch the Z250 in India by mid 2014.
