The American car maker recalled 1.28 lakh units of these same cars for this similar issue already in the year of 2012.This recall is the continuation of the previous recall. The previous recall covers 1,28,000 cars. Recently the company recalled less than 1000 units of its EcoSport to solve the issue due to glow plug module.

This recall focuses 109,469 units of the Figo and 22,453 units of the Classic which sold between January 2011 and June 2012 for potential rear twist beam (RTB) issues. It also includes 30,681 units of the Ford Figo and 3,418 units of the Fiesta Classic for the replacement of power steering hose.

The crack in the rear twist beam leads to the noise at rear. This issue can be resolved through the dye test .In power steering hose, the problem has been established as a potential for oil leaks. It may also be possible for power steering fluid to flow into contact with the vehicle’s exhaust components which leads to smoke and in worst cases it leads to fire in Vehicle.

“This is to ensure the safety and satisfaction of our customers by inspecting and replacing any potentially affected parts as required. Ford India will continue to drive this service initiative through its authorised dealers,” Ford India said.
