Tata Motors today walked the talk with the unveiling of production ready Nexon compact SUV, Hexa preimum SUV and Kite 5 Compact sedan. However seems to be affected the zika virus, Tata’s branding seems to have tough day with none of the names except the hexa may be the actual product name. Tata has already confirmed zica won’t be the name for the new sporty hatchback launched. Also the kite 5 and nexon seems to be the production code name with the actual names will be unveiled by the time of launch
NEXON: Compact suv which made a splash at the 2014 auto expo, is the tata’s compact suv to take on the Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster, Maruti Vitara brezza, Mahindra TUV300 and more. Nexon gets two engine options – a new 110bhp, 1.5-litre diesel engine and an upgraded turbocharged version of the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine – that powers bolt, zest and zica.
Hexa: After the failure of Aria, Tata has changed the MUV Aria into a premium SUV Hexa. Hexa SUV features a 2.2-litre Varicor 400 diesel engine that also powers the Aria and the Safari Storme. The engine will be mated with a 6 speeed manual and all new 6-speed automatic gearbox. Hexa produces 154.2bhp of peak power and 400Nm of peak torque. Hexa dimensions are 4764mm length, 1780mm height, 1895mm width and 2,850mm wheelbase.
Kite 5 compact sedan: This is the booted version of zica hatchback. We all know kite compact sedan is coming and it will be powered by the same set of petrol and diesel engines that powers the zica though in a different tune. Unlike the other sedans made out of hatchbacks, tata engineers has managed to make the boot gel with the overall profile of the car. This entry level compact sedan will undercut the Maruti dzire, figo aspire, honda amaze and hyundai xcent and create a new segment for itself.
