Maruti’s new sub-four-metre Swift Dzire is going to be launched today within few hours. Maruti will announce the price of the car at the time of its launch. Here are some of its specifications and features.
The new Dzire looks quite different and the styling looks better than its predecessor. The car features an extremely short boot. Its exterior measurements in terms of its length, width and height are 3995mm, 1695mm, 1555mm respectively. On the whole, the new Dzire is nearly 165mm shorter than the existing Dzire. The car sports a boot space of about 316 litres and its wheelbase measures 2430mm.
The front bumper holds a wider air dam and larger enclosures for the fog lights. A slated grille is also present at the front part of the car. The rear look of the car is great and the tail section is finely bounded with the body section. The rear door is also larger now. The comfort features of the car include a rear centre armrest and adjustable headrests.
The new Swift Dzire will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant will get a 1.2-litre K-Series engine featuring Variable Valve Timing (VVT). The engine churns out a maximum power of 86bhp at 6000rpm and maximum torque of 11.6kgm at 4000rpm. The diesel variant will get a 1.3-litre engine which churns out a maximum power of 74bhp at 4000rpm and maximum torque of 19.3kgm at 2000rpm. The petrol engine is mated to a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual transmission gearbox and the diesel engine to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
The interior designs of the car is almost identical to the Swift and the lower part of the dashboard and door pads comes with beige-coloured plastics. The front seats are very comfortable and spacious than the rear seats. The car holds ventilated disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. ABS and EBD features are present in the petrol variant of the new Swift Dzire.
The new Dzire boasts a 14 inch steel wheels and 15 inch alloy wheels. The ride is very flexible. According to Maruti, the engine of the new Swift Dzire will return an ARAI-certified mileage of 19.1kmpl for manual petrol and 23.4kmpl for diesel. The new Dzire is an easy and user friendly car to drive with its excellent features, styling, interiors, adequate space and efficient engine.
