Audi India plans service centre, showroom in Chennai

The South Indian territory, Chennai is to have a service centre for Audi in the next year to be set by the Bangalore based Jubilant Motors Pvt.Ltd along with a showroom. This will be followed by other major cities like Kolkata and Ludhiana. The present outlets of the company are nine in numbers selling three sedans , A4, A6, and A8 – all assembled at the Volkswagen factory in Pune.This excludes import of TT, R8, Q5 and Q7.

Audi has brought reasonable sale figures to the company in India – 1128 units upto August 2009, a growth of 60% from the last year’s figure. Of the 10000 units in a year for the luxury cars in India, VW is eyeing on clinching fifth share. The Volkswagen is firm in maintaining separate identity for different models.
