Skoda to launch Fabia scout in India

Skoda plans to bring the Fabia Scout in India which looks quite different from the standard Fabia.The Fabia Scout will make its first debut at the Auto Expo to be held in January 2012.Its expected price tag is around Rs.9 lakhs.The most attractive engine option for Fabia Scout is the 1.6 litre petrol engine delivering a power of 105bhp.It may also be made available with 1.2 three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.It has also been offered with various progressive features.

Mahindra kicks off Scorpio EX

Mahindra & Mahindra has declared the launch of its entry level Scorpio variant,the Scorpio EX at a price of Rs.7.21 lakhs.It is powered by a 75 bhp m2DiCR engine which is equipped with the fuel-saving micro hybrid technology.The Scorpio Ex is available in four attractive colours — Rocky Beige, Diamond White, Fiery Black and Mist Silver.

Vivek Nayer,the Senior Vice-President of Marketing,Automotive Division in M&M commented that at Mahindra,their endeavour has always been to offer the best-in-class products and this new offering from the Scorpio stable is no exception. He said that with its easy drivability, great mileage and refined performance he is sure that the Scorpio Ex will be an instant hit with young customers looking for an affordable entry point into the Scorpio franchise.

He also added that an unmitigated success in the SUV segment since its launch, the Scorpio has kept up its momentum with constant up-gradations and new offerings.

The Scorpio EX features great drivability and good performance and offers an impressive mileage of 14km per litre.It emits lower emissions leading to a reduced carbon footprint.Its additional features include crash protection crumple zones which helps in protecting the passengers form collision and the digital immobiliser to prevent the theft of the vehicle.

Renault rolls out Fluence in India

Fluence has been launched by Renault in India.It is the first sedan model of Renault,the French Automaker.It is priced between the range of Rs.12.99 lakhs and Rs.14.40 lakhs.Both petrol and diesel versions are available in Fluence.The diesel version holds 1.5 litre engine.The petrol version holds 2 litre engine delivering 140hp power with Continuously Variable Transmission ( CVT )  or manual six speed gearbox.Initially it will be available at 12 dealerships across the country.

Renault to launch Fluence in India

French Automaker,Renault is to launch its first sedan Fluence in India.The Renault Fluence model has been addressed as a game changer in the Indian market.Fluence would be available initially at 12 dealerships across the country.

Fluence will appear in both Petrol and Diesel versions.The Petrol version features 2.0 litre engine with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) or manual six speed gearbox which pumps out 140hp power.The diesel version is equipped with 1.5 litre engine.

The Managing Director of Renault India,Mr.Marc Nassif quoted that they will be formally launching the car on May 23 at Delhi.He declined to reveal the price of the vehicle saying it would be announced only at the time of launch.But it is expected that the sedan would come with a price tag in the range of Rs.10 lakhs-Rs 12 lakhs.

He also said that currently Renault has 10.7 per cent market share in Europe, 37 per cent in Russia and 5.3 per cent in Latin America.He informaed that the sedan would be brought to the country as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit and be assembled at their joint venture plant with Japan’s car maker Nissan at Oragadam near Chennai.

Fiat to showcase Punto Evo next month

The upgraded version of Fiat Punto, named the Punto Evo is to be showcased next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show.It will be equipped with a 1.3 second generation Multijet diesel and a 1.4 petrol engine that produce up to 10 percent more power and consumes up to 10 percent less fuel.The engines are powered with MultiAir technology developed by Fiat Powertrain Technologies.It is offered with Start & Stop facility and Blue&Me infotainment system.It also holds many innovative safety features and has 7 airbags including a driver knee airbag.

Maybach showcases 62S Saloon at Cannes

German luxury car maker Maybach is going to showcase its Maybach 62S Saloon at the international jet set,film industry and show business.It is to be studded with black diamonds on the leather upholstery of its rear armrest.Also white diamonds are to be embedded on the dashboard counters.It is to be fitted with a 12-cylinder engine pumping out 630 horsepower.

Tata Motors to launch Nano micro-hybrid by year end

Tata Motors may sell a micro-hybrid version of its small car,Nano by this year end.The micro-hybrid Nano will surely be another example for the growing capabilities of Tata Motors in greener technologies.The company had showcased an electric Ace during the Commonwealth Games held last year in New Delhi.

Regarding this,a spokesperson of Tata Motors said that the company does not comment on the company’s product plans.Nano shows the highest monthly sales volume last month of 10,000 units.The sales unit of Nano till now from its launch is around 80,000 units.

Toyota to launch facelifted Innova in 2012

The facelifted Innova is soon to be launched by Toyota in India.Toyota is going to use high quality plastic,upmarket materials and a better looking instrument panel in its interior features.Also the third row of seats are made more comfortable and spacious.The facelift changes of the new Innova are new lights and a new grille,new headlights stretched over the fenders,new fog lights,new rear bumper and new parking sensors.Toyota has tuned up the 2.5 litre diesel engine of Innova to deliver more power and torque.It is expected with the same price tag of its predecessor.

Honda to launch CR-V diesel in India

Honda,the Japanese auto giant may soon launch a midsize sedan or high end hatchback in India in diesel version.Regarding this,Mr.Saki Inaba,the newly-appointed marketing director of Honda Siel Cars India revealed that the company is developing a sub 1.5 litre diesel engine which may be used in some of its existing models or will come fitted with in an all new model.He said that the company is thinking of an all-new model which will run on this diesel engine.

Honda is also considering some of its models such as Honda City or Honda Jazz to be fitted with this engine.Inaba further claimed that the introduction of diesel model is not the only option to grow in India. They are planning to expand their network into smaller cities as well.He informed that the the sports utility vehicle Honda CRV may come with 2.2 litre diesel engine.

Skoda set to launch mini-SUV in India

Skoda plans to roll out a mini SUV in India in the price range of less than Rs.10 lakhs.The new SUV of Skoda could compete with Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Hyundai Verna.A special note is that this is the first time an SUV to be introduced in this price segment by a global company.

Skoda offers cheaper options to its products in order to directly challenge the Indian companies.Skoda aimed at 20 per cent in the SUV market with the launch of Yeti in November last year.Yeti was priced between Rs.15.35 lakhs and Rs.16.73 lakhs and hence it could not be owned by many people.

Apart from this,the company is now developing a small car than its Fabia.It is also seeking for an entry-level sedan to compete with Maruti’s Swift Dzire, Mahindra Logan and Indigo Manza.Its launch may be by the end of the year and is to be priced between Rs.6 lakhs and Rs.10 lakhs.
