Maruti Suzuki YL7 to be called Celerio

Maruti Suzuki plans to unveil its new global hatchback which is codenamed as YL7 at the upcoming Auto Expo. The YL7 to be called Celerio which is based on the Suzuki A-Wind concept. Currently the company uses this name for A-Star in some international markets. Celerio will replace the discontinued Zen Estilo and A-Star. The Company has unveiled A-Wind concept at the Thailand International Auto Expo 2013.

The wheelbase of the A-Wind concept is 2425mm.The wheelbase of the A-Wind concept is 65mm more than the A-Star’s wheelbase. It is also 100mm longer and 50mm taller than the A-Star. It is taller It will get 16 inch alloy wheels with 185/55 R16 tyres. A-Wind concept gets a twin split chrome grille with integrated funky projector headlights and also LED turn-indicators at the front.

The Celerio will be more spacious than its A-Star. Celerio is likely to get same 1.0 litre k-series engine which is already employed in its current generation cars. It will offer both manual transmission as well as automatic transmission. While the concept was unveiled with CVT automatic gearbox. Diesel variant of Celerio also expected from the company.
