Ashok Leyland launches Stile in India

As we reported earlier, Ashok Leyland launched its Multipurpose –Vehicle (MPV) Stile in India on July 16.The Stile looks similar to Nissan’s Evalia except the logo at the bonnet. On the exterior side it gets a slightly reworked bumper and grille. Seating space and luggage capacity is similar to Nissan’s Evalia. The rear also resembles the Evalia but the only change is logo. The CNG tank occupies the luggage area at the rear.

Stile is available with both Diesel and Petrol/CNG engines. The 1.5-litre Renault K9k turbocharged diesel engine can develop the power of 85bhp and torque of 200Nm and it is coupled to a five speed manual transmission. It is available in multiple variant applications likely a hotel shuttle, ambulance, courier van.

Ashok Leyland Chairman, Dheeraj G Hinduja said,”With Stile, Ashok Leyland is entering into a new vehicle segment, and our confidence with Stile stems from our confidence in the strength of our combined teams in Nissan and Ashok Leyland”.

He told PTI, “Also, we will have a third product named ‘Partner’ in the 4-6 tonne category. These will complete our range of commercial vehicles from the light to heavy and medium segments. As of now, our focus is on the commercial vehicles and we want to be among the top global players in the commercial vehicles segment”.

He also added, “We are extremely happy with the way our association with Nissan has grown from strength to strength. Our shared vision and philosophies have found expression in both the products that we have engineered thus far – Dost and Stile”.
