As you read it first at vicky.in few weeks back, Yamaha today launched the new Fazer in India. Fazer is the third bike from Yamaha on FZ-16 platform. Recently yamaha launched a new variant of FZ-16 called FZ-S. Similar to the FZ-S, the fazer is powered by a 153cc engine producing 14PS of max power at 7500rpm and 14Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm. This new Fazer comes with a quarter fairing and it now gets even bigger rear tyre. The rear tyre is now 140-60 with 17″ alloy wheels. Fazer is priced at Rs72,000 (ex-showroom delhi). Fazer is available in four colours – blue, black, red and orange.
In additon to the launch of Fazer, Yamaha has announced the launch of new colours for R15 – yellow, black, red and blue

Yamaha SUCKS!!!
72K for a 14 PS 150 cc bike?? Same cost as a Karizma or a Pulsar 220 DTSI??
they must be mad. Only POSERS would buy this toy
F another 150cc. yar i dont know when these people will understand that we want bigger bikes, higher bhp, higher torque. We were always angry on bajaj that they launch 150cc then 180cc then 200cc then 220cc. But yamaha has gone one step up 150(R1) then 150(FZ) then 150(FZS) now 150 fazer. In INDIA we have bikes of price range 45000 to 1 lakh then a sudden jump to 10 lakh. where one should go with a budget of 2 or 4 lakh. Where are 250cc or 400cc bikes???????????????????
The only change is bigger rear tyre and headlight when compared with FZ
Atleast Yamaha should have increased to 180cc COZ all it’s bikes r in the 150cc segment
I will prefer 220 of Rs 70000. which touches 60kmph on less than 4 sec. with top speed of 140 aprox. To hell with fazer only 150cc nothing like fi or rear disk still Rs72000.
it is just like “BHUDI GHORI LAL LAGAM”. ONLY LOOKS NO PERFORMANCE
The same old 153cc,14 bhp,35 kmpl mill now with a front fairing. At an OTR price of 80K,people would go for the Pulsar 220 which gives the same mileage but far better performance.
Awesome …..if someone want to buy p220 buy it,….if someone wants Fazer 150 then they will go for it…
But one thing is sure Yamaha R15, FZ 16 and FZ S are selling very fast aur haa PUNGI BAJA DE hai Bajaj kee
I agree Yamaha is using the same FZ platform for 3 bikes now, without any performance/engine upgrade. But if we consider the speed at which these versions with cosmetic (serious ones, not graphical) upgrades are introduced, as compared to similar versions by other companies, I am sure the day when FZ250 will be launched is not so far away…. its just the way of business….Sell ur silver first, gold will sell anyway!!!
good going Yamaha…
Yamaha should bring in Fazer250. Indian roads are becoming wider and smoother. A number of young bikers are touring remote corners of India on their CBZs and Karizmas. Its time to move up to 250 cc/25 bhp segment.
looks great and great for commuters….not for enthusiasts..Well done vicky
Old wine in new bottle.. Bajaj and Yamaha seem to have learnt that from Hero Honda. This was not expected from Yamaha. Calling this new bike is ridiculous. And FYI the rear tyre size is a carry over from old FZ-16 and is not larger.

It is completely waste of time….150cc bike at a price of 72k is not justified. another thing is yamaha launches performance part for R15 & FZ but what about the RD350′s spare-part…….? There some people in india who cares this bike by installing fabricate or duplicate parts…!!
Should anyone in yamaha hear me……..?
I dont think so that we will be able to see an affordable bike in India In coming 1 or 2 years. Reason being that the taxes o the higher end bikes are more in india.
LET ME TELL ALL OF U ONE THING i am a mechanical engg and i Work in a XYZ company(cant disclose the name) but! we are 2nd largest automobile manufacturer in world.
IN India homologation is a big issue.
I explain
In India we cant manufacture a 150cc bike more that 17bhp. And many more irrelevant laws makes it very difficult to manufacture a complete bike.
In Europe R15 is of 21bhp but in india it is just 17bhp.
But yamaha is driving all of us angry by producing bike all in 150cc segment that too with such high price. Atleast they should have given a rear disk in fazer for a chnage .
Talking about kawasaki ninja 250r it will be priced above 2 lakhs. But bike still dont worth 20k as it does not have a v engine, produces 27bhp( even RD 350 is 30 bhp) no up side down front shocker. These compnies are just taking advantage that we dont have any other substitute.
I have royal enfield thunderbird and 220 fi. Now have a budjet of Rs 3 lakh but dont have any bike in this price range. I would preffer a comet over ninja in term of performance.
it seems like to be good.i appreciate to launched fazer.i think it similar to r15 but one thing is there fz16 is not good to handling compare with r15,so we want higher cc and sexy bikes.in (manipur) state we want r125 bikes,so many yzf riders wating for r125,m one of them.fz is good for ride but in race it should be nothing many bikes beat them.r15 is preety good for race but in straight somtimes beatpulsar 220 in straight ways.so we wants higher cc and sexy bikes
Hi Folks…!!
No Doubt in looks this Beauty rules the indian market however bit disappionted on price tag @72K Ex-showroom i.e almost 81K on road(chennai).. Cmon… hwther it worth .. we can get new pulsar 220 DTS-i @70K X-showroom … which definately has more power 21bhp..n claims to b fastest bike ever made in india…
So, i m bit confused which one to go wit.. Sexy Fazer or Definately Male Pulsar…???
Cheers!!
Jai

hi Guys i’m ADY and i’m 4m chandigarh
i have 4 bikes
Yamaha RD350
Yamaha Fazer
Pulsar 220 DTS-FI
and Royal Enfield 1956 Model
personally i recommended go for yamaha
i bought pulsar, dec 07 for 87K and till now i spend lot of money on maintenance like changing wires oiling and lot of unnecessary parts and i think i spend around 45k on pulsar till now only on maintenance. and fazer is too much kewl bike guys 150 cc with vibration bike stability and many more
guys bike having rich features that not means that bike is awesome yamaha r15 if u r on 120 kmph speed and want to stop emergency stopping then you can stop your bike without loosing stability
after 2 years bajaj engines become dead
i’m still having YAMAHA RD 350 and pickup is still kewl
yamaha always rock guys think twice before spend a huge amount on bikes
Thanks You
ADY
ITS NOT A RACING BIKE GUYS…. ITS A TOURER.
