7) FZ16′s air cooled, 2 Valve,153cc engine is mated with a 5-speed tranmission.
* FZ16 is neither oil cooled nor fuel injected (FI) yet it breathes through negative pressure type carburetor.
* FZ16 pumps out 14PS of peak power and 14Nm of Peak torque. The peak torque comes at a lower rpm of 6000rpm.Yamaha says the peak torque of FZ16 is unprecendented.
The power and torque figure are on par with TVS apache RTR, Bajaj Pulsar, Honda Unicorn and Hero Honda Hunk.
8) The two layer 35mm dia (external tube) exhaust looks chunky and gives a sense of volume to FZ16. At the rear FZ16 gets monoshock suspension but no rear disc brake
9) Tubeless at the fore and aft of the FZ16 is an another nice feature. But what makes you jump to the skies. The 140-60 17R is the fattest tyre ever seen in an Indian bike. The tyre is also a radial again a first among Indian bikes.

I am enjoying with my FZ. Its a great bike…
But I have some concerns. The gear shift is very hard. Sometime fro 1-2 & 2-1, its getting neutral.
And mileage is giving around 35.
How is yours???
Its before my first service. I am done with 500 Kms only.

Yamaha ,,ha,haha, by the time this is read they would have closed the shops in india and started making keyboards for orchestra.
All the key people have resigned and dealers are not more than unskilled mechanics graduated to showrooms in most part of the country.
So will be the case with Suzuki150 .125 has vanished,access125 is just having last breath.
Honda trying hard with their silky smooth engine for Unicorn ( I wish they had made activa with that sissy engine), but numbers donnot justify the production cost.So the aviator,dio,now the stunner all gone to dustbin.Has anyone seen these bikes (suzuki125,CBZ,achiever,Unicorn,shine,,scooters Dio, aviator,access125,selling in volumes and running on the roads except initial sales

FZ16 instead of apache or some other 150 cc bike because people still have the trust in YAMAHA
yamaha has launched this bikes because they knows what people wants ……………………….
fz16 is great bike because of style & it hits the road…….

This bike is has got more advance technology than any other in segment it gives more in less money 75k is less to yamaha fz16
and friend sanil it has min milage of 48kmpl and max is 64 kmpl it is based on your driving condition just have a cool riding than rediculous hard riding.
i had just bougt fz…nd tellu its the ultimate choice ever……awesssuuummmm bike,beyond comaparision…
ya milage is the thng wich i m woryin about..mine is just 38km/litr:(
apache ,xtreme not evn in comparision,fz is the lord…believe,,,ppl just keep on watchin whn u pass by on ths byk

Iam a proud owner of FZ 16 for last 3 months… 2000 kms done. 2nd service done.
Happy things abt this beast :
- Excellent Handling. its a pleasure to ride this.
- Good n Comfrtbale riding postion. Fist I thought it vll b difficult to ride with a pillion rider.. and also It may b tough time sitting back side. But its just cool…
- The HeadLight.. its excellent
- Eye catchy… Oh.. thats the main stuff. thats the moments wen I feel that my 75 k is worth. its really a head turner.
Issues I have faced with this beast:
- Milage? Iam geting aroung 30- 35 km/l (yeah, smooth riding ofcourse)
- the key-hole will become loose… n u must ask the service gusy to replace the bolds with ordinary one, since the inbuilt stuff is neither available, and also the toll for fixing it not avialable.
- if u try to take the bike frm center stand, it will just keep on slipping on the floor… until I get on the bike, sit and then try to take it. wiered!
- law pick up. and sometimes or most of the times wen I slow down, i need to shift down to fst gear to get the push…
but still, you will just love it… and ofcourse its not at all meant for a commuting use…

As the name implies, its the true lord of the streets. Im getting a milage of 69 kms.
hey dude kirann i m really surprized to see ur reply,did ur bike really gives 69 mileage???
About APACHE, first ride then feel its wonder ridding ,certainly you ‘ll say “amazing”.
