Honda Motorcycles and Scooters has been the market leader in the scooter segment since the launch of Activa. Honda has become the reliable partner for Indian customers. Currently, Honda sells Activa, Dio, Eterno, Shine and Unicorn in india. Recently Honda announced its intention to sell superbikes in India. We interviewed Mr N.K. Rattan, Divisional Head, Marketing and Sales,Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India. He talked about the launch of Honda’s CBR in India, superbikes and its safety in Indian roads. He said that the new Aviator scooter will help the Honda to target the Urban male who needs performance and aggressive styling. He shared his views on the new 125cc segment in scooter and answered queries on sporty shine. However,he told us Honda doesn’t have any plan to roll out escooters or ebikes. Watch the Interview

Honda is a very good company, aviator is a very bad scoorter
can i know why do you feel aviator is a bad scooter
no sir ur wrong it is a first indian scooter have disk as well as comfrt riding
Aviator is not a bad scooter but badly designed scooter with one leg small
and other leg bigger in case of wheels toocramped for adult
Aviator is good but little bit hight good mailage good pick up in gearless scooter it is not fit for ladies honda access 125 is best for ladies
Honda is planning to phase out Activa in coming two-three years.That is the reason they take bit different product line. You will witness new veriety of scooters soon
Honda Aviator is based on Activa platform and is designed for slightly more height & comfort of males. females can also easily ride.Activa is Honda’s flagship model and it can be never be discontinued so easily.Antway , my family has 5 Honda scooters Activas, Dio, Aviator. Great products ,great company.
Aviator not selling at showrooms.This is a abnormal scooter with front wheel big and rear wheel small to compensate wrong design by Japanese.
End of the day they foud front end was short hence changed the rim to bigger size as told by their R&D people in confidence.This model too has same skidding problem like Activa so beware …

i would like to purchase a 125 cc bike & pl. help me to choose between Suzuki Zues & Tvs Flame, which is good.My usages 65 KM per day, pl. guide me which bike suitable for me, i want better millage & good pick up & min. maintainus.
Well every one is awaiting vespa ET4 with manual gears, donot know when the time comes.Variators donot have any engine brake like geared scooters one has to to depent on rear brakes all the time hence activa prone to variator pulley wear, clutch shoe wear, break pad wear, and ultimately replacement of brake drums and fat repair bills compared to chetak days. Very evident from this Honda is a big
cheater company makes money in service and selling cheap spares at exhorbitant prices, Their activa is a very low technology scooter which is prone to skidding and back bone pain.I am sure every owner will agree on this point.Its been a sucess at the cost of Bajaj, TVS who are neglecting potential of a good scooter. Activa is like a unicorn in the market without TVS RTR and Baja Pulsar.. Had there been a seriously made model from these companies honda would have eaten their shit from their own hands
Yes I agree with devot ,you rightly said certain things , but Honda being a very serious company they never let go their vehicles in reputation for reliability, eventhough the points mentioned for maintenance cost high spares replacements etc, but they provide dedicated service house to give prompt service (and ofcourse loot the gullible customers)
Bajaj ,TVS riding on bike are best scooters make you lose money syndrome which is not true and most important is you are letting sruggling Honda to gain this ground without any competetion, by the time Bajaj starts their scooters Honda would have perfected their models, Hondas canot make scootters like Bakjaj, TVS thats india specific activa is nearest but not the exact model indian needs.
To reach Hondas levels of marketing ,engineering perfection Bajaj has to realise the customer quality requirements and work towards it
3 sigma, ISO 9001,TS16000 etc are all hog wash they dont mean anything except for audits once a year, all that is required is seriousness to produce parts and products what customer actually and exactly needs at this hour.
i would like to know that is there any plan to launch a new scooter by HMSI INJAN OR FEB 2009 . I WOULD LIKE TO buy a new scooter . my would be bteween suzuki access & newly launch scooter by HMSI IF ANY ? THANX
It seems HMSCI is giving ficticious figures related to sale of motorcycles to gullible public ,hardly one sees Shine and stunner on road, but they declared 30000 shine and stunner together figures.Highly impossible. Only activa is selling in showrooms.
Cost of owning activa may be cheeap but running cost is v.high
I own one at 30000 KMS- Variator rollers wear our, so is variator
drum, Brake drum.
40000 KMs again Kick starter ratchet fails, clutch roller replacement
Every five thousand dealer opens the head for resetting.
50000 kms engine looses power fuel cock fails every morning
cold start becomes a night mare.
Every service ends up with min 2000 Rps.
Front suspension Bushes (Gun Metal) wears of needs replacement very frequently ( due to wrong selection Of material for the purpose)
Tyre starts wearing off oneside like KH ending up in skidding frequently.
Apart from this common problems of Horn switch, Ignition switch malfunctions too common so is wobble of head lamp cluster.
Many would have seen Activas skidding on right and scracth marks on front sheet metal .Brake yokes keep braking or get loosened on
handlebars.
At 60000KMs engine bore will have to be carried out for next size piston or replacing of bore
Mileage drops to 30 KMpl after 50000KMs from 42kmpl
Silencer bolts brake off from engine case , ending up in rethreading of engine case.V.Common problem
Soooo.may problems never faced in Bajaj, LML , but you will
never find any scooter better than activa as on date.
JUST LIKE IF THERE WAS ONLY UNICORN NO CBZ,NO ACHIEVER, PULSAR
AND YAMAHA,NO RTR,
