You read it first at vicky.in

Few weeks back, you read and saw pictures of TVS clutchless bike at vicky.in. We hear from our sources that the launch of this model might happen soon. We also informed you about TVS developing a powerful scooter to compete against the likes of Honda Aviator, Honda Activa and Suzuki Access. Now our spy team has got interesting details on both these models. The scooter is christened as Wego and the clutchless bike is named as Jive.

Both the Wego and Jive is powered by a 110cc engine.  TVS which still rides on scooty brand limited itself to fair sex. On the contrary, Honda with wide range of scooters – aviator, activa, dio and eterno caters to different target group and has been leader in the segment for years.  The Wego 110cc will produce more power and comes with full metal body to lure the urban male. Wego is expected to be priced around Rs. 45,000

TVS Jive – clutchless bike built on the star platform is aimed at customers who wants hassle free riding but a bike. TVS Jive comes with 110cc engine and innovative automatic clutch.  Jive also gets FZ-16 ish tank for muscular look. TVS says that the mileage of Jive will be on par with motorcycles and pricing will be attractive.

    who wants a clutchless bike?

One can as well buy a automatic scooter for crowded cities. and for rural areas where is the need for a cluchless bike?

I see already a failed concept from TVS

it cant be,, as its a motorcycle the mileage should be gr8. so the equation would click IMO. And it will be a boon to ride in traffic ~~

I use a clutch to smoothly slow down in traffic. An auto clutch would make it cumbersome to change gears and slow in traffic.

I too see a failed product even before launch.

    Hi Anonymous commentator,
Don’t say that Vicky is spreading rumour. It was this website that gave the real pictures of TVS’s clutchless bike and at that time there were no name for the bike at all. For people who ride bikes in dense traffic auto clutch is a big boon. Added to it the bike give very good performance and milege compared to an auto geared scooter.

    @Ajith,

Are you a TVS employee? Seems like you have ridden the clutchless bike yourself. It is the possibility/doubt of smooth gear changing in dense traffic traffic that I am bothered about.

to me the gear changing without a clutch will be jerky and not smooth in dense traffic. but can’t say for sure till I have ridden the bike

For those who have forgotten, there was a step-thru bike sold by Hero Honda named “Street” which boasted of exactly same gearbox system. I rode that bike years ago and blimey, it ran as smooth as any other bike!
FYI I am not a TVS employee, nor do i own any of their bikes.

Obviosly, Jive is not meant for young die-hard bikers. Its main targets are commuters who have to face heavy traffic. It can also be touted as the 1st proper unisex motorcycle (as it is easier for women), what say?
For those who use the clutch to slow down, this is a very bad riding habit, it affects the bike’s durability.

Is there any possiblity of auto-clutch bikes coming in the 150cc and above category ? That will be great news for people seeking more power with hassle-free riding.

Is there any chance of Honda coming out with its own clutchless bike ? Coming from Honda, one can expect very good quality.
