PRICES DOING POLE VAULT

It is not prices that are going to do the pole vault. But the customer will perceive that in the months to come as after a buoyant Diwali season, it is time for celebrations to dissipate and fall back into normality. Now as demand will fall back normal, prices will also fall back to normal rates. Discounts were offered the past quarter due to a sudden jump in demand as everyone celebrated Diwali with less crackers and more vehicles.
You may feel the pinch of a price increase of 8-10%, if you want to buy cars now. Maruti has once again sold the highest number of Cars this season leaving no doubt that it is ‘the household name’ of India. Alto, Ritz, Wagon R and Swift have seen huge sales and a resultant increase in discount – Rs.
40000-45000 during the season. Now this will scale down to Rs. 15000-20000.
General Motors was offering almost a staggering discount of Rs. 50000 owing to a 4706 units sales of its hatchback-flagship Chevrolet Spark taking the total to a 7654 units in September alone including the Taveras, Aveos and the Optras doing well on their part. But now after the season ended, only Rs. 13000 will be offered as a discount according to a reliable company source.
Hyundai was providing a discount of around Rs. 35000 which will be reduced to a mere Rs. 10000 to 15000. Hyundai was scoring well with its hatchbacks i10 and i20.
