XCD debuts..
Bajaj Auto on September 9th(as announced) launched its new 125 CC, DTS-Si engine-powered ‘Xceed’, priced at Rs 41,000 (ex-showroom). Bajaj bets the new bike will deliver the fuel efficiency of a 100cc bike combined with the performance of a 150cc one. Bajaj has incorporated some of features found in the 150cc bike in this new XCD 125cc. Lets welcome the new XCD!
XCD’s styling and Engineering:
Similar to other Bajaj bikes, XCD is contemporary,stylish and is equipped with hi-fi features. Bajaj XCD the wide black visor, clear lens indicator, 5 spoke alloy wheels. Adding to this conventional sweet features is the new larger headlamp which is mounted lower than conventional setup for aggressive posing. The twin pilot lamps with unique prismatic treatment on outer lens enhances the look. Similar to the gladiator, Bajaj new XCD comes with scoops on each side which partly covers the not so wider fuel tank. From the side, the flowing lines makes the XCD 125cc DTS-SI more dynamic. XCD’s body coloured SNS spring(inner spring) instead of orange offered in other Bajaj products paves way for the flow. The lines converge at the rear to a smaller triangular tail lamp
XCD 125cc DTS-SI features:
* XCD comes with electric start but doesn’t have the disc brake
* XCD 125cc DTS-SI features larger headlamp with prismatic pilot lamps
* XCD is the first 125cc bike to be launched with digital console – a microprocessor built into the speedometer assembly processes information from the wheel speed. For night time usage, the LCD screen has an orange backlight with features in black. With this 135cc discover and platina are the only products which are barred of this Bajaj’s LCD console. Soon to be launched TVS 125cc flame has a similar console
* Another first in the XCD 125cc is the LED taillight which is only available in performance bikes. Bajaj is bringing its value added products to the 125cc segment.
* With the new XCD 125cc DTS-SI, bajaj introduces a new technology for which it has applied for patent. XCD features a flexible number plate mechanism instead of conventional rigid plate. Through this new mechanism XCD’s number plate swings to and fro which enables the bike to have a lower than conventional front fairing which will enable aggressive stance for the bike at anytime according to Bajaj
*XCD adapts the industry standard wider rear tyre at the rear
* easier maneuverability with this new XCD due to reduced wheelbase(1265mm in XCD and 1305mm in discover) but this reduction might have an impact on bike’s stability
* XCD 125cc DTS-SI features handlebar weights(black colour) to control vibrations
Bajaj phases out 110cc & 125cc Discover:
Bajaj, which stopped the production of Discover 110cc in August has now decided to phase out its Discover 125. With this discover 135cc is the only member in the discover family under production. However Bajaj will continue to produce Platina’s as long as there is a demand for it. Though, Bajaj is setting international standard(new platform in every 2 years) by phasing out one of its best selling models its rival Hero Honda is able to sell 4 models in 100cc segment and 3 models in 125cc segment. Is bajaj jumping to the gun? will it lead to loss of customer’s credibility? yes, somewhat in India on an average a bike is owned for 3-5yrs(approximately 40000km) if the company phases out the model within this period how will he/she react. Definitely not a positive move atleast in the present condition. Bajaj’s another peer TVS too phased out its 150cc apache while launching apache RTR
Betting big on XCD:
Bajaj will produce 20,000 units this month, which would be hiked to about 50,000 units a month by October.This will make the XCD the third most produced bike in India.
Bajaj which has been the victim of slumping sales and lower margin expects to derive a profit margin of about Rs 3,000 on each XCD 125cc DTS-SI.
Bajaj – Kawasaki:
Bajaj has spent almost three years to develop this XCD with design expertise from its technical partner, Kawasaki. Bajaj is in talks with Kawasaki for technology alliance. The duo is on the verge of announcing a joint mega development venture. It is believed Bajaj is working with Kawasaki to develop an innovative technology for one of its future products. Rajiv Bajaj said that a ‘unique’ technology that is a global Kawasaki patent would be used on some future products.
Bajaj which plans to develop bigger, faster and technologically advanced bikes in alliance with Kawasaki will compete with Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki not just in India but also in East Asia and other places. In recent years, Bajaj Auto has entered a number of other large foreign markets like Indonesia, Nigeria and Iran. The company has also further enhanced its presence in Sri Lanka, Egypt, Columbia and Mexico. Bajaj has been scouting for a partner in china for a long time where it sources alloy wheels for its products. “We will enter China at the right time when we find a right partner,” Bajaj said.

please change the silencer and fitted there pulser 220 silencer
bikes look is good except silencer this silencer is like platina silencer
change also five spoke alloy wheel and fitted there six spoke
alloy wheel just like discover 125cc if you are fitted six spoke alloy wheel bike look like heavy and stronge i know some difference in millege but
It is well known that XCD 125 has an outstanding kmpl when compared to Discover 125. But can any one tell which engine is powerful in terms of pick up? (XCD 125 or Discover 125)

Engine must be good with all the fight and drama between Tvs & bajaj.but i think its little bit over doen.i doesnt have the proportion of discover .In the looks department(with the pics from net) i think Tvs has a deadly stunner ,it just too good for XCD.

This bike looks a bit too narrow in rear, a bit like moped. Bajaj should take a look at TVS flame, much better design.
No disk brake is no good. It is essential safety item what is wrong with Bajaj.
Also the rear tire is too narrow.
It looks like in an effort to cut weight and get better FE Bajaj has made a lot of compromises.

like
1> 4 gear shift – should hav 5 gears.
2> Drum brake – should hav disk brake at least now a days.
3> Silencer – Looks not so good.
4> Back wheel is very small – should hav at least wide Zapper tyre.

i thought it would be gud nearing to discover 135cc,but bike is too small infront of tht.SO 2 out of the 10.
height is very less ,125cc vehicles like glamour have huge look which can capture market gut it drastically fails

xcd features seems to good, when i personally inspected the bike, there is no big appeal, more over it is going to be an another failure model from bajaj,because,the vehilce will be good till free service, once it paid serivce it will bite your pockets. When it comes to spart plug cleaning you will find it very diffiicult to remove them, because it placed in such a way where the rider cannot clean the spark plug by him self.
More over engine design poor, and vehile is too low.

Recently I purchased XCD. As of now I cannot say about performance but I want to know wether the XCD can be fitted with disc brakes. Please send me the reply.
Is bajaj XCD 125cc contains balancing like pulsar? I asked this question because u have used single frame to handle the weight Instead of double frame in pulsar and discover where it is attached to the handle bar i.e. engine is placed in the centre of two rods while in XCD engine is placed on single bar.
It’s a good bike but disk break should be provided.

bajaj XCD is realy looks lioke sporty and hot bike specially in red and black combination.Features are good.if you are riding it in a high way at a speed of 70-75 kmpl the bike is not vibrating and pick up and performances are good.when you are braking you have to apply both FRont and rear brakes then you fell the dofference.if you are a good rider then you feel it as really good bike to ride at a good riding conditions.

i drive nearly 70-80 kms daily, which involves 50kms of highway and 20-30kms of city. i have heard that milleage of XCD is not so good on highways and ok in city road, which is opposite of bike in market.
I would to know from you guys. please advice.
Also i have a victor 2002 , what should be its resale value. (tank had leakage but its repaired, battery is not working).

This bike breack light is too small & its shape in rear is narrow, a bit like moped, Bajaj should modify the back side of the byke, also change rear tyre size like pulser so it will look better from back side

I had near about 250 km ride on XCD on Pune Banglore Highway(NH-4)
. Riding XCD is good experience for me with Double seat . It gave me 55-60 km/ltr milage with speed of 75 to 85 . The stability in terms of vibration and control is Excellent.
The seat arrangement and suspension was so nice that you will never get bored driving this bike.
Pick-up is also nice while overtaking in ghats.
I think only disk brakes are missing .

i THOUGHT xcd-125 will give more milage in the world…109kmp/l .but my XCD Bike will give only 45km/L Why?

1> Rear type should be wide

Ya it’s a cool bike don’t know about performance going to buy this bike in a day or two then i ll tell you every body. No doubt look and average is nice but the only drawback i found till now is it looks very small as compare to any other bike like discover moreover with the price of 40+ disc breaks should be in the bike

bajaj XCD is not giving the mielage as mentioned by the company,this remark is given by various owners of bajaj XCD,and people who ever purchased it are so much disappointed in its mielage,my xcd is giving a mielage of 52 kms,i m very much worried with my bike,as i asked various bike owners of xcd,all of them had given the same reply as i said, so dont take the decision of purchasing the bike immediately,do enquiry and purchase.

A SPECTACULAR BIKE! I bought it 4 months ago, telling u.. it is simply fantastic in pick up, acceleration, mileage[65kmpl], ride comfort, stability at high speeds, and unlike discover which looks like a ‘ZOMBIE’, XCD is Captivating and ‘very much Alive’in its looks! Guys.. jus go ahead and buy it. Enjoy de XCD Xperience!!
Dats a fucking byk nt giving mileage as they tld.,parts r low quality.,maintaindnce is very high.,i gt mileage of 50-55 whn rides n de speed of 35-45 overall..plz ne 1dnt buy dat byk .,instead buy passion plus.

6.its good for short time n change it after 1yr of use

so i specially advice u too go for discover 135 dtsi its more efficient as compared to xcd with disk breaks.more power , great looks,milage abt 60km/lt etc etc and it is no too much costly than xcd onroad price is abt 53000/- just 5000/- more than xcd n u will get 135cc disk breaks more power n pick up
so i guanually suggest all of u go for dicover dtsi135 than xcd

Dear All existing XCD 125 owners/Prospective owners
Please note that Bajaj has discontinued the production of XCD 125. It’s a total failure in the market. It’s pittd against HH’s Splendour & passion by reducing the price,but in vain. Finally the sales of the XCD125 is down to mere 20000 units per month. As compared to XDC 125, the big brother XCD 135 is doing very good. Also new Discover 100 is selling pretty good volumes of 90000 units per month. So bajaj has discontinued this model without much hype alongwith Pulsar 200. So don’t go for new one, as dealers are removing their stocks in discounts. Also there will be scarcity of spares for the exisiting owners. Finally this the speciality & reality of Bajaj bikes & the geneuine owner will have to repent on the same throughout his life time. You just can’t sell your product by giving big names like DTS-SI, exhaust tec. It’s a good lession for Rajeev Bajaj.
